HisSweetElysium -> age difference-younger dom or domme? (2/8/2010 9:05:02 AM)

I have seen on the boards that a decent % of subs prefer an older dominant, and I'm just curious about those who have chosen a younger. Another post got me thinking, how many subs have a younger dom or domme, and does it cause any particular pros or cons in the relationship?

I'm 4 years younger than my boy. I know that's not really a lot, compared to certain others, but it's noticeable enough for us. We both like it, and have yet to find a drawback from our age difference.

Master is younger... but I doubt a months difference is what you may be after...[;)]

I had a younger Dom for years. He is 15 years younger. The problem was in our incompatibility in our values, goals and communications style. No problem in physical or passion. I never felt old with him, just sad that we did not get along better despite being so in love/lust.

He was smart, but lazy about it. If he did not understand something I said or a reference, he would be upset, instead of embracing an opportunity to learn. I never put him down for not knowing something, what I was upset about was that he was intimidated and got defensive instead of being open minded.

I like a guy about 5-10 years younger; I don't think I would go for much younger than that anymore. And I do NOT discount anyone the same age or older.

LOL 4 months, you cradlerobber!  [;)]

Master is 4 years younger than I am. In the D/s world, He has far more experience than me, which I consider a big deal, I feel safe and cared for.

In other positive notes, I found the ummm, sex drives of men my own age to be lacking. I was off the market for a long time, basically since I was 22 years old, and came back to being single 10 years later and found myself wondering what happened to all the men who actually wanted sex?

I guess the one area we have difficulty is running a household. I owned my own home at one point, was married, and then was in a relationship with a man who had a child, who I cared for like my own.  Master has always lived a bachelor's life and loves my cooking, cleaning, laundry, homemaking stuff, which all occurs at my home (more space).  I run into problems though, when He tries to change how I do things,  I've been doing it for so long, I'm convinced my way is better, and I tend to argue more than I should I think... (most recent debate was about using fabric softener, because He thinks it's "unnecessary")  I know I'm His slave, and I should do what He wants, and ultimately I will, but I can't help thinking my years of experience bring something to the table that shouldn't be immediately set aside...

I just fired a young 'un...The age difference was rather extreme.  So she didn't know who Paul Simon is or know anything much about anything.

What she lacked in knowledge she made up for in gravity defying bewbage.

I am sooooo shallow.  Shoot me.

My boys tend to be a decade or more older than I.

There are distinct advantages for me as I like someone more mature and more sure of who they are.

Sometimes they are a little uncertain at first, a bit mystified I'd find them appealing but once they get a little more comfortable there do not seem to be disadvantages.

In fact some find it strokes the ego a bit to have a younger woman want them.

Yes, shallow but I really can't fault you here. I don't think this one was an age gap issue. Ignorance is unattractive at any age.

Way back when
In Sixty-seven
I was the dandy
Of Gamma Chi
Sweet things from Boston
So young and willing
Moved down to Scarsdale
Where the hell am I
Hey Nineteen
No we can't dance together
No we can't talk at all
Please take me along
When you slide on down

Hey Nineteen
That's 'Retha Franklin
She don't remember
The Queen of Soul
Hard times have befallen
The Soul Survivors
She thinks I'm crazy
But I'm just growing old

Hey Nineteen
No we got nothing in common
No we can't talk at all
Please take me along
When you slide on down

The Cuervo Gold
The fine Columbian
Make tonight a wonderful thing

No we can't dance together
No we can't talk at all

Just for what it's worth, he is kind of right[;)]
Fabric softener is cool for linen and stuff like that.  It's great to assist with ironing.  It's an extra expense really - makes things feel soft and smell nice.  But never use it on towels, bed linen or teacloths... it makes them retain water.  Plus it sucks environmentally.[:)]

Ah but it makes them so soft and fluffy, and they smell nice, towels and bedding I actually double up on it, LOL...

MZMistytoyou -> RE: age difference-younger dom or domme? (2/8/2010 10:51:58 AM)

I have had an on going D/s relationship with an older woman, and have found very few problems with it because when we are alone sheis my property and she must do as I say. In the vanilla world we appear as close friends.

The only thing about the age differance is that she does not want to have a permanent relationship, she would prefeer that I find some one else for that.

I know.[:)]
I saw an experiment done on towels and how much water they retain when compared to the same towel washed without - it's quite scarey.  It means they become damper, quicker (makes then unhealthy)and shortens their lifespan(means more cost).  Plus the waste that conditioner produces that gets washed away isn't worht the fluffiness... drying outside (rather than in) causes the same effect that softeners fake.
Same for bedding.  Beds/matress' soak up sweat when you sleep which is why they have a limited life.  So when you have duvets and sheets on a bed, they retain moisture from your body and the bed which harbours germs and mold and shortens their life and that's why you get bobbles and tuffs.

Meh - but I'm an econerd...[:D]

Kana -> RE: age difference-younger dom or domme? (2/8/2010 10:55:35 AM)

All kidding aside, I have Dominated women close to my age and up to twenty years  younger.
It's far less about age than interaction.

HisSweetElysium -> RE: age difference-younger dom or domme? (2/8/2010 11:00:35 AM)

*sigh about to wash the bedding, so I'll give it a try. I tend to buy expensive sheets and duvets, with the higher thread counts, so they should be pretty soft regardless.  Thank you for the tip!

RCdc -> RE: age difference-younger dom or domme? (2/8/2010 11:08:29 AM)

Just for info - and not as smelly as you may think - vinegar is a natural softener.  And baking soda if the vinegar worries you...or gycerin.  and you can grow and make your own lavender pouches for fragrance in drawers or cupboards for laundry... I am sorry if I hijacked - forgive me?  [:)]

LOL I think I hijacked my own post, no worries!  I'll try baking soda, that doesn't scare me as much as vinegar!

agirl -> RE: age difference-younger dom or domme? (2/8/2010 1:21:04 PM)

I remember ironing...just. Of all the things I've given up in the last 15yrs, that was the easiest....lol

eyesopened -> RE: age difference-younger dom or domme? (2/8/2010 1:28:17 PM)

My Master is 9 years younger than I.

If I were 26 our relationship would be illegal.

If I were 36 our relationship would probably be fleeting.

But I'm 56 and it would seem no two people were more perfectly matched.
We share the same goals for our relationship, for the rest of our lives.  Age ceases to be a factor at all.
