...er...worms. Pigs? (How does this go?)

OK, I can't Dom a #2 pencil. I hate doing my taxes. I usually do them at the last possible nanosecond. Couldn't I just go to debtor's prison instead?

Have you done your taxes yet? How does it seem to you compared to last year?

Yes I have.

It was a little harder this year than last year cuz I am self-employed, plus have a girl who works for me.

But it wasn't too bad cuz I use Turbo Tax, and I payed extra for TT Home and Business.

I usually do my own, with the simple form, but with all that's go on the last year, I went to someone else to see if I could get more money. Well, it looks like I'll end up with about the same; supposedly, Obama did something where we'd get more money back on our paychecks, but unless you changed your withholding status, you'd lose some on the tax return.

Oh, and I bought a new car on February 11; any new car bought starting 5 days later, February 16, you can deduct the taxes on your return. So, 5 days fucked me out of almost two grand.

I used to use TT, but I've been using Taxact. I have no idea why I changed. Did you get more or less or same as you expected?

So. Your advice is do them myself or go to debtor's prison? Pondering...

How do you get them done so early?!

My taxes were done on January 13th.  I also use TurboTax.  I got my refund on January 29th, paid off what I wanted, and bought some fun things for the Things and me.

Stay the hell out of any prison.

Do them yourself, if you don't have stuff to claim, like a new home, car, medical bills. Be sure to take the Make Work Pay deduction if you do it on your own.

I need the money, so I kick myself in the ass as soon as I get my W2, and get it done. I've never been big on waiting for my money, though.

TurboTax and TaxAct yield the same.  I also had a CPA friend of mine take a look and the refund was the exact same.

I used to work for Tax attorneys, some of whom were former IRS attorneys as well... debtor's prisons are a thing of the past.  But the IRS will get theirs.   *whew will they... said 2 friends of mine recently*

It's just...prison sounds better right now. Look what it did for Martha Stewart. She came out thinner and she got a lovely shawl from some skank for "redecorating her cell" or whatever and now it's like nothing ever happened! She's an ex-con!

LMAO!!!

I am a bit organized but when it comes to getting money back...  I'm superwoman!

Truthfully though, it doesn't work that way for the "regular" folks.

(but wouldn't these drapes look nice in a 6'x9' space?)

I use tax act, on line.  I have not yet done mine.  I hope to get a refund.  I paid a little last year because I did not have enough taken out at my part-time job.  Hopefully this year will be a refund.

I have a lawyer and an accountant as subs, but it was my 'nilla husband who ended up doing the taxes.

How ironic is that?
