the peril is that every country that has troops on the streets will have those troops used AGAINST its own people. therefore it must be used with extreme caution. the snow storm is a good example. it snows every year-- we expect snow- but now Pitt "needs" troops. where only a few months ago- 1st amendment people had their hearing permanently damaged by sound blasts. anyhow- I am sure the locals can find a solution to the problems.

jesus, you are fucked up. The ND air national guard and the ND army national guard is fucking local and local people. The reason they are needed in Pittsburgh as well as Bismark is that you aint going to get off your lazy ass to shovel no snow, and neither is your neighbor, you want it fixed but will not help bake the bread, harvest or sow the wheat. but you still want to eat the bread.

If you want an example as to why the federal govt. should not get involved in building apartments, just look at any major city in the country. They are called public housing projects and every last one of them is either being torn down or it is a slum. Hillside in Milwaukee and Cabrini Green in Chicago are two that come to mind here in the Midwest.

Did you read about the man that drove 700 miles from Colorado and is working {and looking for a second job} and sometimes sleeps in his truck? What better use of "stimulus" money is there?

But, I already have MANY local service projects and people that I am already helping. If you have the time, maybe you can actually do what you suggested I do.
