MzMia -> RE: ND has jobs! Just don't come here if you don't have a place to stay! (2/10/2010 3:42:26 PM)

Hello Domi!
I am going to say this in the kindest way "fuck you".

Now let me go back to my charitable organization.

I don't get a government check and never have. In 4 years I will get one if Social Security isn't broke. If it is I can live without it.

She is not lazy.

I recall posts she did a while back.

She is involved.    Look up every post she ever did if you must- but I recall that she is active in her community.

Great post and idea's from someone who lives in the same geographical area and understands the problem well.
There is no reason that tent city can't be set up soon, I intend to follow this story as much as possible,

The problem Hooverville ran into last time was sanitation, hopefully things go better this time.

Uh, no....there will be investors and all sorta housing going up in time.

That is clay area and have you ever tried to dig frozen clay? especially that yellow shit? I dont know which clay is out there, but that yellow shit can be frozen in late june.

still alotta below zero weather out there. the jobs are now, the people are now. takes time to build and in that area they are going to need at least 3 or 4 or 5 foot frost footings for buildings there to get below the frost line so the building dont crumble, the tent city can be set up now, and the building can commence this spring after the frost is out.

Time will tell. Hell there is a bunch of unused trailers they could use. If they are still in decent condition.

If the government builds it, it will be public housing. How can you call it anything else.?

The government is into mortgages in a big way in this country, but they might have been having fishsticks that four score years in the lunchroom, and you up and missed the memo on that.

thanks for playing, don't forget your towel.

Ron

Well... they might be able to strip them down and redo them. Might not be cost effective though. But our government like things not cost effective.

The government should design a plan how to deal with millions of unemployed. Evidently the jobless benefits can not be extended for many years. I would suggest building commune-like establishments  on government owned land. It is likely not to happen though (as the US government is dysfunctional). Instead the government prepares for public unrest by increasing security spending (the security structures and prisons got lot of money from the Obama economic stimulus package).

What a wonderful idea Fellow!
Building commune-like establishments is a wonderful idea, and can/could be used by both

those that are homeless and working, and those that are homeless and not working.
There are people all over America that are working and homeless.

...you unamerican socialist you.....Communes? Sounds a bit like communist to me. Next you'll be suggesting the redistribution of wealth and the ritual exceution of Rush Limbaugh.

Actually that last one wouldn't be bad at all..........

lol, I am a Moderate.
Not only do I think communes are a great idea, I have felt we need to build orphanages for many years.
With all the young people in abusive situations, running around with little to no supervision, and in foster care, many would be much better off in orphanages.
[;)]
Commune living and orphanages, sounds like a plan!

Some moderate, Mia...  Now you are speaking in favor of commune-ism.  You are aware that shit never works, right?

lol, Rich.
We are speaking of communal housing for people that are working and trying to work in N.D.
I think communal housing would be cost effective and beats sleeping in your car in N.D. in the
middle of the winter.

When our schools are the way they are it seems the ladder is stacked so that more Americans end up on the bottom. They would get way more bang for our bucks if they used more of that money for education. But that takes years to see a return. No instant results to show.

That could work well. It gets cold out there.
