I looked at your profile to try to see where you lived and if that had any sort of influence on who showed up to those meetings...I do not know if the meetings you attended are indicative of who is attending them elsewhere...Like I said, I never thought that everyone that ever went to a tea party meeting is racist....
I will say that the movement is being co-opted by Freedomworks and Dick Armey... not exactly without his own pedigree of political shenanigans. I have respect for libertarianism... even put it is my "likes" category on profile... but the tea party movement is not a grass roots movement... and those behind it love to feed fear to gain power...
I saw Ron Paul on Rachel Maddow the other night discussing the fact that the tea party movement is turning against him... Ron Paul I have respect for... the tea party movement... not so much....
