Damn, that's wonderful!!!!!

I have an...er... problem.  Could you kiss it and make it better?

afterforever -> RE: Sorry about this (2/9/2010 7:07:28 AM)

Does this "problem" have anything to do with your threat to shave your boy bits earlier?

That's just because my bedside manner is already fracking awesome. I can medic it up for you if you want though.

Phaeochromocytoma. Telecanthus. Lymphadenopathy. Dystrophia myotonica. Intermittent ankylosing spondylitis. Caudate nucleus. Triskaidecophobia. Iatrogenic?

Do I get anything because I know that is a fear of the number 13?? (and I did not Google it either, don't ask me how I know this).

Congratulations!!!

ShellyD -> RE: Sorry about this (2/9/2010 7:52:08 AM)

Congratulations[sm=applause.gif], many years of hard work and study are behind you now...although it is ongoing lol.

I had a choice when I finished secondary education as I had the numbers for medicine....I stayed with nursing because my ability to study that many years was curtailed by a family.

Lucky as I have found I have little short term memory...the long term is ok....[8|]

Just make sure you also know or get to know about conditions such as fibromyalgia...believe me...patients will be gratefull when finally SOMEONE gets what they are talking about....as so far these days still too many so called docs don't get it [>:]

But I'm going to fill this thread with smug. I would be celebrating by going out and getting drunk at 11.30am like all the other students, but I have tonsillitis, so I'm just going to do this.

I had Finals a couple of weeks ago, results were out today.

You may now call me Dr Forever, BSc, MB, BCh, BAO. Or not, whatever suits you. Oh, for the Americans, that's the Irish version of an MD.

I will now be answering all questions about the human body with complete authority, regardless of whether I actually have any clue, which I probably don't. If you have a funny rash on your naughty bits, send me a picture. Not for any diagnostic purposes, just for my amusement.

I'm going to go sit in the corner and have a panic attack about actually having to be a doctor now.

[sm=cheerleader.gif][sm=applause.gif][sm=cheerleader.gif] YOU ROCK!!! [sm=cheerleader.gif][sm=applause.gif][sm=cheerleader.gif]

I'm still working on that one, but I have high hopes for complete illegibility in the future, my handwriting has always been too small, slanty and swirly. If I need to I can always start writing prescriptions in mirror-writing, being left-handed.

My phlebotomy teacher told us that doctors write bad, so that no one can tell if they misspell something.

Oh ok. The reason I asked, was because in an episode I just watched, the main character looked at a slip written by a doctor and declared she was a fake because her writing was too neat. And he was right, she was.

One of my friends has it, she had to drop out of med school in 2nd year and it wasn't for lack of grades or motivation. Now she finds it hard just going down the shops to buy bread, so I know how sucky stuff like that and ME can be. I might not be able to do anything about it, but at least I can sympathize?

Did you not see my medic-speak earlier? No spell-check, baby.

KMsAngel -> RE: Sorry about this (2/9/2010 1:05:49 PM)

i always check out the dr sigs at the family clinic i go to. and also the drs of my clients. i can always tell women from men their handwriting tends to be better) and i always question their "realness" if i CAN read it. i sometimes accuse them of being "learner" doctors (we have learner permits for beginner drivers here, and they have to display it on their cars) if i can read it too easily.

it usually gets a laugh out of them, and i figure they don't get too many laughs while seeing clients
