It's "possible" because the newbie sub got SUCKERED into the "Mentor" bullshit... which is mostly used as a SCAM because they approach said newbie sub as only a "Mentor" (to gain their trust), only to later attempt to transition that trust to becoming their Owner. In short, it's little more than a bait-and-switch... and ANY sub who becomes involved with a person such as this, should IMMEDIATELY kick said "Mentor" to the curb once anything beyond a "Mentor" dynamic is even alluded to; because in doing so, they've shown themselves a LIAR from the outset.
This is similar to a 'nilla guy approaching a 'nilla girl as just a "friend"... earning her trust... then when the time is right (e.g., some dude has broken her heart, she's feeling lonely, or whatever), he makes his cowardly move.
