Status: offline 		So I was thinking, Tom Waits has been around for a long long time,but it seems that every one I talk to is completely oblivious to him, and I was wondering if it's the same here.So what do you think, is Tom Waits the coolest dude ever? Is he still cool?Do you even know who Tom Waits is?

(on a side note, I'd say Cab Calloway was a close 2nd)

Status: offline 		Oh,yea. I've enjoyed and admired TW since he came on the scene. He's brilliant.

I was online ( not the virtual kind ) waiting to buy tickets at a club in Chicago he was appearing at. Tom was pan-handling the folks in line. It was hilarious. Most of the peeps in line, waiting for tickets to his show had no idea who he was.

Ya gotta love a guy who will pop a Mickey's Bigmouth while he watches his house, which he just torched, burn.

I saw Tom Waits play live at a little club in New York a looong time ago. I was at a table in the front and his entire set was amazing. I got so drunk on Jim Beam I'd never have gotten home without my girlfriend at the time propping me up and steering me along.

Ah ... those were the days.
