Aqua I understand the need for choice and the people in our area had that choice. I know many places did not, however the law was put in place for Health and safety measures not to "restrict" rights more so to enforce the right for people to breath and be able to breath in a healthy enviornment. As well as smoking adds poloution contributing to global warming.

For every pack of cigs someone inhales through second hand smoke they loose 7 minutes of their lives. Just for walking near or being near someone who smokes.

Freedom of choice rocks but not when in endangers others (Esp the smaller others)  Thats when rights go out the fucking window.

Just to point out is a huge.. DRASTIC.... NON comparison to man to me... allowing second hand smoke because its protecting "someones right to choose" no one worrys about someones right to choose when its a) endangering a child b) breaking a law. c) doing both to the poor smaller ones.

I agree with the banning of smoking in public places. You think it should be up to invidual businesses to decide. I don't. That is all.

Pot: It is simply not in the same category as other drugs like heroin or cocaine.  How often do you hear of pot smokers mugging people to get their next fix?  They don’t because they are to busy watching the Cartoon Network.  Also, think of the prison space that would be freed up for more dangerous criminals like rapists and murderers.  And, of course, there is tax revenue in it for the government.

Prostitution:  Why should it be illegal for a woman (or a man for that matter) to sell what is perfectly legal for her to give away for free?

Smoking in Bars and Restaurants:  It should be up to the owners – they know best what kind of cliental they have/want to attract.

Breast Feeding in Public:  I can’t believe that some places actually ban this or that some people even raise a stink about it.  To all the uptight sphincters out there who call it “inappropriate,” (or worse) – C’mon!  It’s a woman feeding her child, what the hell could possibly be inappropriate about that?

Homosexual Marriage:  It is a simple matter of equal rights.

Multiple Marriages:  If all partners are consenting, what’s the friggen problem?  My only requirement would be that in any divorce (whether in a two person marriage or a multiple marriage) would be that the divorcing person is entitled to one equal share of the marital assets.  Of course, the divorce lawyers will never stand for that!

Women Going Topless in Public:  If it is okay for the men to ditch their shirts in hot weather, it should be okay for the women too.  Yeah, sure, I’m for this only because I love tits but so what?  Technically it is gender discrimination.

I agree with all of these, but hesitate on the women going topless one. I have no issue with it [;)] but I wonder, would it spur some guys with little self control to do things they shouldn't? And would it cause wrecks?

Well i didn't say it should be banned, just that i couldn't care a fuck if they did. Quite a difference. Not like the anti smoking mafia who want to decide if a bar owner should allow smoking or not.
Well i would advocate a ban on whining, bitchy woman, but of course Johannes did write that in to the bible a few thousand years ago, just no one seem to listen.[:D]

I'm speaking in regards to keeping the government out of people's businesses. Out of the sidewalk, sure. In the park. Sure. Government buildings, hospitials, schools, places I am required to frequent yeah ban smoking.

Bars? I get to decide if I want to expose myself to that or not. A resturant that allows it? I get to decide if I want to take my kids in there or not.

I disagree on these things,

Sex CAN HAS and will forEVER lead to children, can you say over population?

Marriage its SELF isnt something thats lasting and you want it to be legal for people to marry more then one person.. I have a feeling that will make marriage a dead art.. Whats the point its the vow to another person.. why make that vow if your also going to give it to who ever else...?

and topless would be to many wrecks.. and to many people... WAY to many people SHOULDNT BE TOPLESS MY GODS

Self-important wankers with no sense of humour have always been legal, so it's only fair [;)] . You can always stick your fingers in your ears and go "lalalala" :-) .

You do know that we have birth control and that it's not illegal, right? It's not like prostitutes are going to start getting pregnant just because prostitution is legal [8|]

hopelessfool -> RE: Should it be legal? (2/11/2010 5:07:22 PM)

you do know most birth control isnt completely affective correct?

In fact the pill Is around about 93 percent in those under 180 pounds.

if people accidentally get knocked up now, how many more WILL get knocked up... when sex is "legal" to sell

Effectiveness is an important and common concern when choosing a birth control method. Birth control pills are very effective. Combination pills work best when taken every day. Progestin-only pills must be taken at the same time every day. That keeps the correct level of hormone in a woman’s body.
Less than 1 out of 100 women will get pregnant each year if they always take the pill each day as directed.About 8 out of 100 women will get pregnant each year if they don’t always take the pill each day as directed.
The pill may be slightly less effective for women who are very overweight. Talk with your health care provider if you are concerned about how well the pill may work for you.
From The planned parenthood website.
As well as from the knowledge I was conceived on the the pill and with a condom...

Where do you get your information? That is absolutely wrong, wrong, wrong. Honestly you should check your facts before posting them.

Besides how can you claim there would be this sudden epidemic of pregnancies due to prostitution becoming legal? Careful, your ignorance is showing [;)]
