ORIGINAL: CarrieO There's a difference between consensual kink/consensual non-consent/abuse and torture. I didn't assume that the OP got off on the non-consensual nature of the events, but that he focused in on the acts themselves and played them out in a consensual fantasy. It's possible to extract details from a story and strip them of their context. Sort of like how I read your link and all the awful details in it but was most mentally engaged by this: quote:
The six people charged each face four counts of first-degree murder, one count of intentional homicide of an unborn child, one count of heinous battery and one count of aggravated battery. Wondering how they could each face four counts of first-degree murder when there is only one dead body, and assuming that the writer made a mistake. I understand what you're saying Carrie, and I agree - it doesn't look remotely "kinky" to me and I don't generally find myself aroused by such scenarios. I would go so far as to say that I'm not sure I would be comfortable being partnered with someone who would be aroused by reading that story - but I think that would have more to do with my valuing sympathetic imagination, not the specific details... I wouldn't be comfortable being partnered with someone who responds to stories of poverty with reductive "bootstraps!" thinking. I agree, the OP didn't necessarily appear to be excited by the actual story of torture/abuse in so much a reality but more as a fantasy or, as you say, in a consensual fantasy. What I was responding to was the portion I quoted from another post, not the OP's, that given this is a kinky "community" the discussion would be understood by "the gang". I understand fantasy and that many fantasies are best left in the realm of the imagination...that doesn't mean I understand simply because of a suppossed community and assumed standards. To the OP....Whether or not you choose to feel guilt for your arousal is up to you. What's also up to you is what you choose to do with that desire...how far you'd be willing to take in in RL. Just my opinion...nothing more, nothing less.
