In support of Jack (who'd a thunk it?) I get the same impression DS - OK over here we saw comparatively little of it, but what little there was I watched and noted ('cause questions would later be asked on CM!) and the whole thing just seemed so counter intuitive to the goal of winning to such an extent that, when one considers he had professional campaign managers, it would seem they were either suddenly and inexplicably incompetent or they'd set out to ensure the other guy won. The truth is that whoever won should have faced such a mess that his party would be come to be associated with it. A continuation of Republican administration should have made it impossible to keep the blame from their door, whilst if a Democrat administration took it on, then little by little (as indeed we see here on a daily drip feed) it might be possible to lay that blame at their door. Joe might feel he's been played, and he probably has been - but I suspect McCain may have been played too, and in a way most unfitting to him inasmuch as my impression of him as a man goes. E
