Mmmkay, points well taken- and I do remember when politics didn't have its own section. I was just saying I don't think its relevant to this site, unless there's a story in the news about BDSM in relation to it, or something. And that sort of thing can be posted in the "BDSM in the news" section. Other than that, I don't see the point.

I think instead of promoting those pointless, derogatory threads by giving them their own place here, they should be done away with entirely.

I don't even see a reason for the politics section of the thread, because none of the talk that goes on there changes people's minds. It just turns to anger and insults. Its not productive, and has little or nothing to do with BDSM except that reading an entire thread there would make a cruel punishment. I vote for taking down that whole section. It wasn't there until recently, and the site was fine without it. Why cater to the people who kept posting those pointless political threads?

It keeps a lot of vitriolic delusional conspiratorial fascists too busy to post in the Lifestyle threads.

Users have posted threads on politics and religion for a long time,so there are people who see a point to them and CM would like to cater as much as we can for as many as we can.If we did away with all the sections that were not devoted to BDSM,then there wouldn't be a place to post this thread for a start.

The TOS are really clear about starting threads about specific users or racial slurs.CM doesn't want to curtail peoples freedom to post personal opinion on a subject, even if the majority don't agree with it,or even if we don't personally.Anything that crosses the line or abuse of the image facilities, you might not see get dealt with, but they are dealt with.

If something leaves a nasty taste in your mouth, pass it by or report it and explain way, that is why we have a ticketandreport system. But still got a nasty taste then it's ya own fault if you sampled the meatloaf in the first place I'd say.[;)]

Seeing how it turned out, I'm kind of glad they started up the Politics and Religion section.  It kind of cleaned up the off topic board.  It's easy to identify if a thread should be in that section or not.  However, I wish more folks would at least attempt to start threads on the boards where they are most appropriate.  A quick read of the section headings is an easy enough clue.

Oh gimme a break. When you walk into the beauty shop, are you supposed to only talk about new hair styles??? When you go into the restaurant, do you only talk about what entrees are on the menu??? The point is, people talk about everything, anywhere. That's the nature of conversation. So it's only logical to give politics and religion a section of their own.

By the way, look very closely at the bottom of the home page, and read my lips.
