I just got a c-mail for a Nigerian gold miner. He says he wants to help me but I think it may be a scam.

Who do I complain too?

By the way, look very closely at the bottom of the home page, and read my lips.
"Collarme.com is a member of the Free Speech Coalition. "

You have no idea what that quote means, do you?  People see the words "free speech" in there and ASSUME they know what it means.  Sigh.

Let me help you:  http://www.freespeechcoalition.org/

From their introduction page:  The Free Speech Coalition, founded in 1993, is a nonpartisan group of ideologically diverse nonprofit organizations and the for-profit organizations which help them raise funds and implement programs. Our purpose is to protect the First Amendment rights of nonprofits and reduce or eliminate the excessive regulatory burdens they face, including the costly and duplicative fund-raising registration requirements now required in almost every state.

Ummm.. I'm glad I ventured off from the BDSM topics area tonight and discovered this thread. I've been sort of wondering about these things. DomiGuy being back. Threads without Mod11 spanking.

StrangerThan started a thread in Politics and Religion bemoaning the deterioration of civility in political discussions. This got me wondering....I have run afoul ,in the past, of Mod 11....well lately I have noticed an awful lot of posts with content that in the past would have led to some corner time for some posters....but strangely no subsequent "awaiting approval" posts.
What gives? Did I miss something(I've been doing a lot of travelling...so maybe I missed the announcment?)

It's a lot more lax around here.  Seems to have gone from one extreme to the other.

A good friend of mine left CM after complaining to a mod about something outrageously bad that was said, and the reply was that she should just try to run the person off the boards herself if she didn't like it.

Strange.

11 allowed herself to become attached to "favorites" that would whine to her. I think telling people to go and deal with thier own created drama is a better policy overall.

I wasn't a proponent or opponent of 11.  In this particular case, why are you assuming the drama was created by the offended party?  It was something said that was totally over the top which should have been addressed.  Like I said, from one extreme to the other.  We went from being over-moderated to self-run.

I'm not sure (nor am I all that concerned) that we are posting about the same thing, although you seem certain we are.

But basically you're saying that Mod 11 shared with you what others' complaints were.  And that's rather interesting.  I wonder if that's a practice with all the Mods, to email users the private concerns of other users.

Of course it is.  I cannot go to my mailbox without a gazillion messages from the Mods about everyone else's personal business.  It is quite frustrating you know.  I have begun thinking that they have WAY too much time on their hands with all this gossip, gossip, gossip, that they are dumping into my mailbox.

It really is a shame.  tsk tsk tsk

Being that this particular situation had nothing to do with you, It's doubly strange, but no matter.

Pffft, according to CelticNightmare, it's happened.

But if you wanna toss sarcasm at me over it, go for it.

No, that was supposed to be sarcasm and humor directed at CNs claim.

But to make up for it, you are welcome to my spot on the "gossip list."

Ok.. seems that although I hate to get on the boards and speak about such things ( I am NOT giving out the secret handshake though, forrrget it!! )

No offense, but I truly have a hard time believing a user was told to run another user off the boards if she didnt like them. We maybe more relaxed, however, we would never promote controversy and ill will between users. IF that happened, I would welcome a cmail from your friend, and I will get to the bottom of it, either way.

Politics and Religion was started because there were so many threads and complaints that were all over the forum. It was actually XI's idea to start that forum, with the idea, that , like the Gorean forum, it is more delineated, and there are some posters that either 1) never leave there or 2) never go there. Makes it easier for the whole board. That is not expected of anyone, and there are a lot that travel all the boards

While we are on the subject of Moderator Eleven, she did an outstanding job for years for the site. There is not a moderator or administrator here that everyone will agree with all of the time. She was invaluable for a long time here, as there were long periods of time she moderated the boards almost by herself. That said, she decided that since we seemed to have more “help” she was going to start taking time for herself, and the Moderator Eleven user nick has been retired. The site appreciates the countless hours she put in for its benefit, wishes her the best of luck in her pursuits, and is moving forward.

The change in moderation is a fluid thing, and now is being fine tuned on a case by case basis. If there is a thread running nowhere, and you think it should be closed, report it ONCE, your ticket will be reviewed.

On that note, there is a whole bunch I want to say, but it’s late and I still have work to do; that reminds me:

DOMI, WHERE THE HELL IS MY CUT? IM WAITING ON VACATION FUNDS FROM YOU!!! J
