We're going out on Thursday, August 5th for the weekend. I don't know about anyone else.
Hoping to meet with Domi and Jeff at the very least. We are not scheduled kind of people and we are not the type that feels like the entire crowd must do everything together.
In fact, if that was the case, we'd disappear into the woodwork and go off exploring on our own (which we most likely will do).

Neither one of us has been to Chicago so we are working on our list of things we want to see and eat and drink and do....

If we hook up with a group of freaks for a few hours here and there then that's an added bonus.

I lived right next to Poughkeepsie (Spackenkill, by the mall) and always saw deer running across our streets at night.  That wakes you up better 'n' coffee!

I hate deer. They are the largest cause of death in my county, two hours out of Manhattan. Bring back the wolves!

Museums. The Field Museum of Natural History is one of the best in the world, and probably the best in the country. (Don't be frightened of the tyrannosaur; she's dead.) The Adler Planetarium is one of the best planetariums I've ever seen, and the Museum of Science and Industry is the largest science museum in the country. The Shedd Aquarium is one of the largest in the world, and one of the best in the country. Probably the best east of California, really.

They're all very close to one another, and in fact, everything but the Museum of Science and Industry are located on the same lakeshore campus. I wouldn't try to do more than one a day, though. You'd be cheating yourself. If you only have one day for museums, I'd suggest you pick which one most closely suits your interests and have at it. Whichever one you choose, you'll remember it the rest of your life.

Have fun! God, I love Chicago.

I think you can do the Shedd Aquarium and the Museum of Science and Industry in one day. Well...at least we did. *lol* Several times.

Well, yeah.... but there were two of you! So you could, like... do it twice as fast. Right?

Anyway. I suppose I could do both the Shedd and the Adler in one day, but every time I spend a whole day at either the Field Museum or the Museum of Science and Industry, I leave discouraged because I had to skip some stuff. They're freakin' huge! I could spend a whole weekend in each one, probably.

Mostly, there was me and a stroller and a couple of other kids that didn't fit in the stroller.
The first time it was a school outing...so...lots of us.
I grew up near there so, I've spent some time going there.

Greetings all....

I really wish I had seen this earlier. I would be there if you have a specific time and place. I live out by O'Hare. However, I have to be in Indianapolis that weekend. Its GenCon and I am going again for the first time in a few years.

Be well and have fun all....

Yay! Plane tickets bought last night.
Baseball tickets at Wrigley for the Friday afternoon game also purchased.

Other things on the list to do for us...
The Art Institute of Chicago
Frank Lloyd Wright house
The Maproom.
