True Love doesn't "suck".

Why not? Why can't I have my opinion that true love does sometimes suck? You've got your opinion and that's fanastic. Now be respectful of other people's opinions.

Are you saying I can't state my opinion if it disagrees with yours?

Nope. Just that it's rude to state as a corrective statement when it's simply your opinion. My post was clearly scarastic. Hence the 'rocks fail, everybody dies'.

Personally, I think love does suck sometimes. That doesn't mean it isn't a fanastic, glorious thing that's worth fighting and dying for... but nothing is perfect. Sometimes it sucks. IMHO of course.

What he is saying is that if your opinion disagrees with his opinion that constitutes a personal attack in which you have labeled him a worthless human being

"Love" is one of those fancy vacuous words some people like to use to inflate their degree of self-convinced virtue above other metaphysical plebes. Like "spirituality".

It's a self-adopted status icon that takes no effort to earn. Convenient, admittedly...but old and antiquated. People already have religions if they are interested in ambiguous moral virtues. Love-proselytizing in an attempt to presumably save people from themselves is about as ridiculous a position as I've come across.

I would very much like for the OP to please concretely define "True Love".
I would also like for him to define "Abuse".

Sorry for being simplistic:
At it's foundation a BDSM relationship is still a relationship.
There are many different types of relationships.

Given that... Bob, why do you feel that by adding the element of BDSM to a relationship, it excludes the possibility to have one without "True Love" and have it still be healthy?

I advise you to read my profile and journal for the answers.

Actually, OP, I don't think anyone here cares whether you sanction casual BDSM or not.  If the position that you hold today is the same one that you held when you were here before and then were gone, I don't think it honestly mattered.  Your personal beliefs didn't change anyone else's personal beliefs.  You're entitled to your opinion, and if that's working for you, great.

At the same time, My opinion is different than yours.  Like you, I've based Mine on My experiences and My interactions with others.  It works for Me and since you can't prove My conclusions on the subject are incorrect due to fact, you're not changing My opinion any more than I am changing yours.  So, you are quite correct that people are going to do what they are going to do, regardless of what you believe.  I happen to be one of them.

While I'm at it, I'll tell you something else that I believe.  We don't agree on the premise that casual BDSM shouldn't be for anyone, I do happen to think that it isn't for everyone.  Hang on a minute, because there really is a difference between the two.  There are some people who are just not wired for casual play, just like there are people who are not wired for poly, bi-sexuality, or any other thing that isn't right for them.  For the majority of folks, I figure they are reasonable, sane adults who know how to make thier own choices and what best fits them.  I'm not here to attempt to convince them to be something that they are not.

We are just going to have to agree to disagree because personal opinion is not fact.  As I've said before, when you can bring fact, I'll be more than happy to take it under consideration.

Next, I'm going to address alice.  Unfortunately, you have a very bad habit of attempting to insult people that I have a personal fondness for.  In My opinion, that's something that you are going to have to work on.

I really shouldn't have to tell you this, but folks involved in BDSM are just like any other subsection of society.  That means that all points of view on the gender debate are going to exist here just like they are anywhere else in the world.  Everything from accepting someone as female because that is the gender that they have always felt they were, to those who will never see someone as female because they were XY at birth, and all positions inbetween.

What I tend to think more people care about when relating to someone who may be in transition or who has gone through transition, is how honest someone is about who they are, as well as who they've been.  I've seen folks on these boards who have chosen the route of dishonesty about their birth gender.  That generally doesn't end well.  Not because they were born male, but because of the fact that they chose not to be honest in their interactions.  There are a lot more people out there who want to be able to take people at their word than there are folks who are willing to deal with people who lie to them.  After all, don't you want people to be honest with you?

There are several hundreds of posts that demonstrate more than a little concern about whom I might influence. It is not going to get better on some other thread.

They have spent a great deal of time and effort conjuring an image of me and themselves here. I will work with what I've been given in this thread.

This reminds me of something that the infamous Jessica Powers would have said.

Imagine this thread if Bob had stated "I want to be in a relationship with one woman and to have complete love and trust and protect her from all harm" .. it would haven't even exceeded one page.

And the only reason it has exceeded one page is because so many people have such a low tolerance for the beliefs of others.

All this to coerce agreement.

Apparently the casual community believes coercion is the preferred method for getting people to agree with them.

No wonder so many people are damaged by participating in the casual community.

Right. It's got nothing to do with the fact that you swoop in going "HUZZAH! THE LEGAND MAN HAS RETURNED TO THE FAULTY BOARDS WITH THEIR MISGUIDED BELIEFS!" instead of just going "Hey guys, I'm back. How is everyone?".

We're bored.

And does this justify hundreds of attacks against my self-esteem?

Something those considering involvement in casual bdsm should keep in mind.

Seriously, people never attacked you till you attacked other people's ways of doing things. You don't have immunity because you crusrade around for true love.

If your self esteem is so fragile as to be affected by people you will never meet on an internet message board, then perhaps seeking counseling would probably be a GOOD thing for you.

I do not expect those who participated in the ridicule to admit to their intent.

The intent is to expose you.

You use an alleged sick child to derive sympathy. You create a wife character who you represent to have 'lovingly' nailed her tits to a board. Of course now she's dead, looking for some "woe is me" reaction. The intent is to point out that you are a masochist. A bratty attention whore at that who, when seeing attention wane, posts some ridiculous manifesto, most likely stolen from another source, to attract more cyber beatings.

I admire your ability to manipulate enough of us to generate 900 responses; however it should be pointed out based upon the new count total under you picture, 169 are yours. An more telling indicator of your amusement value versus anyone taking you seriously.

But that's not what you want is it? Needing to extend your arm to take a picture, points to not even having a friend to take it for you in real life. Maybe you can train on of your dogs to do it for you, but until then - like a man condemned to solitary confinement, any attention and/or human interaction is preferable to the reality that is your life.

However you are fundamentally incorrect in calling this "ridicule". Not one person made up anything about you. Not one person has done anything other than hold up a mirror. What you see as ridicule is a reflection of you, your life, and the character personality you've created for whatever purpose it serves you.

I say it's serves your egotistical desire for attention. The dead wife, the sick child, borrowed plot twists from soap operas. I have no guilt if they are real because, if they did exist, your use and representation of them is embarrassing to see. Exposing yourself is one thing; non-consensually exposing them for selfish reasons is beyond this sadist's pain inflicting capability.

The only question that comes to my mind is what is your goal? Are you that lonely that any tactic is in play? In your heart to you really believe someone will be as desperate and lonely as you and together you can serve each other's need for attention and human contact? I hope you are unique in that regard bob. The thought that there is another person as miserable as you is terribly sad.

Have fun! The internet was created for people like you. You can pontificate from a pulpit insulated from reality and outside contact. You can post 169 'responses' to an 'introduction'. Maybe that alone quantifies your self appointed 'legend' status. I'm happy you can feel yourself a 'legend'. Good for you bob. Who knows, if it weren't for this outlet, you could be in your basement torturing small animals to express your self assigned superiority over them; but then they wouldn't serve your masochistic desires for negative attention. So it is a good thing that the internet and CM is here for you. It is in that context that I'm happy you are here.

Hope that makes clear my intent.

UPDATE: In the 15 minutes it took to type this - bob's post count is up another 11 to 180, and counting.....whoop 181...

Casual BDSMers can still take responsibility for the events in their life.

You know...like taking the weight for crappy results and emotional heartache wrought from poor previous relationship decisions on their own shoulders rather than projecting the blame onto an intangible, phantom conspiracy-motivated group of people.
