LadyAngelika, I probably came off as snatty last night re: the video, I apologize, I knew it was intended as a joke and it actually was funny. It was a long weekend, not the good kind, and I was tired and stressed and .....so anyway, mea culpa. Besides, I cringe when anyone thinks I might be an ill-informed American flag t-shirt wearing bible thumping member of the GOP. shudders. Color me liberal please.[;)].

Ok, then the answer to the OP's question is: It's the same as any other relationship, BDSM or vanilla. Both parties have to want to be in it. Both parties have to be willing to communicate. Both parties have to understand the limitations. And both parties need to be willing to "show they care" in a way that satisfies the other. Otherwise, one person is making a sandwich and figuring out what's on TV.
