Aww... you can come snuggle mine. He's really quite the attention-whore. [:)] I'm trying to explain to him that if I can't put him in his cage or his ball then I can't clean the house to finish ferret-proofing it so that he can run around. He seems more interested in being my lap though, lol.

OH! Another thing that I forgot to mention earlier. Ferrets like to back into corners to do their business, and can get "stuff" amazingly high on a wall. Until he is fully settled in and litterbox trained, you might want to line the corners of his cage and any room he can run in with plastic, to make boo-boos easier to clean up.

This part I was already aware of. I've wanted a ferret since I was about 17 or 18. I used to buy the ferret magazines at the pet stores just to learn about them. [:)] I'm watching him, waiting to see where he wants to poo. So far, nothing. Athough I have learned that if I wear a hoodie and put him in the center pouch, I can sorta satisfy his need for attention while still cleaning. I just gotta make sure I don't overheat and that he doesn't jump out!

Awww!!! So sweet! We have a harness for Scooter but I haven't figured out how to tighten it properly. He definately interested in my purse though. He keeps sticking his head in there to investigate. :-)

Oh G-d... Scooter went crazy over a friend's feet today - he evidently thought her sock was an evil thing that needed to be destroyed. And then he gave Mama a heart attack for the first time by refusing to walk on one of his little paws. Took him to the vet and everything, where he proceeded to walk normally. Ahh pets. Gotta love 'em.

They're not called toe sharks for nothin! LOL He was just curious that the thingie was moving but couldn't see what was making it move. Curiosity and all. They love nakkie toes too btw.... and sock balls are stinky, snuggly fun. Don't be surprised if you find yourself constantly missing socks. lovingpet

It is a pelletized diet just for ferrets. They also like meat.

My daughter has approx 15 ferrets bred for pets, there are issues around times when they are in season, I can't remember exactly what right now but I suggest you research it as she has heard of serious problems. She also has 2 gay male ferrets who are happy to bonk frequently.....much to my grandchildrens delight...lol initially at least,now they just tell them to stop it![sm=excuseme.gif]

winterlight, They eat pellet food for ferrets but they are carnivours (sp) ... sweety loves bacon bits although she will eat anything she can get her paws on. The 1st day i had her she stole a peice of a muffin off the coffee table and ran under my bed w/ it. lol I have also discovered that sweety will try to eat my chinchilla licorice if they are allowed to interact

So far crosses fingers there has been no stealing. But I'm just waiting and desperately trying to pick up to control the damage. Unfortantely, he was somewhat of an unexpected addition so the house wasn't quite ready for him! It's getting in shape fast though. Amazing what I can do when properly motivated! [:D]
