That is a well known phenomenon - there are few of us here, having reproduced who would not wish to pass to our offspring a sizeable fortune and few of us here who having acquired such a fortune would wish to see our offspring married off to someone whose pedigree indicated financial, economic, political or social failure. That this tendency to group together and self perpetuate on the parts of those possessed of wealth and power indicates a vast and sinister conspiracy? Well, if thats the case being made then the burden of proof is on the accuser. Is this status quo annoying? Of course. Does it act to limit and even prevent the likes of us from reaching up into those lofty heights? Of course. I believe the origin of the term 'blue blood' came from the fact that royals of the past largely stayed indoors, they did not get much sunlight, nor were they required to work for a living, so with no light, they were pale, and their skin not being exposed to the rigours of weather was soft and thin. So with pale, thin and smooth skin, the appearance of their veins would be blue. In contrast to the blue blooded lot, those who had to work in all weathers developed thick skin of various shades and were possibly coated with ingrained dirt, veins might not have been so obvious, never mind the colour they might appear through skin.

So big deal, Bush was related, albeit distantly to the queen of England. I have traced my family back to William the Conqueror, The Plantagenet family, and the first lord of Shelton. All that and a buck fifty will get me a cup of coffee at IHOP.
