My question is teach them what?

I'm just beginning to believe it's part of the fantasy.

Women can learn by being with someone how it feels to be what they are, but is that being taught or is that a natural outgrowth of the experience?

OK, this is my tongue in cheek answer.

Women seek to be taught all the special wonderful mysterious things about "themselves," and how they can be deeper and more loved and more loving as a result.

Men seek to teach how to give blow jobs.

Both are valid and wonderful. And the happiness lies somewhere in the middle.

this slave would encourage you to ask them.

"women" are not all the same...therefore they do not all seek the same thing.

when this slave first posted a profile on a BDSM personals site (not this one) she didn't need to be taught submission, she had that down pat. she had never been to a club, munch, event or even so much as participated in a relationship with an agreed upon D/s foundation/structure going in~so she was curious to learn about them, and sought someone with experience that could inform/teach her about those things.

I used to have a teacher fetish. I wanted to be with a man that I felt had more life experience, was wiser than me, and could "teach" me....

I have officially gotten to the age where that is increasingly unlikely. Although my current partner has a lot of wisdom to offer and he has things to teach me, I also have wisdom to offer and things to teach him....

I would say that those who desire to be taught in life would be more desirable than those who think they know it all. It is hard to add anything to a full cup after all.

My very first ID here was something like “looking2learn”. I was referring to gaining understanding of self; did I belong in a D/s relationship. I continue to learn new things about myself, constantly.

I am currious as to what you consider 'teaching' to be. I was thinking along the lines of; offering the opportunity to question what was previously thought; by experience, and or, new information to consider?

It's a polite way of saying they want someone to explore new things with. I see nothing wrong with having an open mind.

I'd rather see that,than ten pages of "All those horrible things I absolutely won't do,because of my extensive and totally unresolved personal issues. But that I will probably blame you for if you are unlucky enough to hook up with me."

although not strictly looking for a 'teacher', I would hope that my new Dom would teach me what he liked and didn't like, and would hopefully help me to explore new experiences. Beyond that, for me, it's too much 'Castle Realm'. Not saying that's wrong, it's just wrong for me

I am thirsty to learn. Though i have never put that in my profile, i would want to learn everything the person i am with knows plus more. I drink minds because my need to learn is always first in me. I love learning. I have not been in bdsm for a long time, so i am sure i have a lot more to learn. only a fool would think they know everything after a few years into something, and one thing i am not is a fool.

Sir has been in this life style for over 40 years, and he is willing and wanting to teach me things he wants from me. I haven't even lived in this type of 'lifestyle' for 24/7, so i am very thirsty to learn. Nice thing too, Sir loves to learn things from me, that does not pertain to bdsm. He's has many interests and sees areas that i can teach him as well. That might be what makes us get along so well. Our interest is just not about the bdsm world only, but the whole world.

This is how I've always looked at it. I'm not sure they really need someone to teach them about sex, they want someone to teach them about the world and everything in it in a new and exciting way. Some people don't have a certain kind of courage or what have you to go out there and try new things. They might be looking for that.

I usually don't see anything sexual when they say that.

All right, so my serious answer......

i did learn a lot from being with my ex Master. But really it was more "life experience" sorts of things, traveling together, discussing current events, his work, etc. Made me a much broader based, more cultured person. i did learn a lot about money management, less from him teaching me, and more from me watching him.

i'm not sure how much of that "life experience" i would have gained, or not, without him - and probably would have just gained different experience with someone else. And on my profile i don't advertise that i'm looking to learn from someone, i advertise that i'm looking to have even more experiences with someone now.

Perhaps it is just the difference in how we all learn. i tend to learn from everyone i meet - i simply love talking with people about "what they do" in life. So no, learning from my Owner is not a priority for me - sharing, growing, and experiencing together is.

i hope this helps. And yes, i know that men want to teach more than just sex - just being silly.
