How I got started was there was an egg that met a sperm. I was no more attracted to submission than I was attracted to being female or attracted to being short.

its not hard to say what first introduced me to the concept. sharon green's the warrior with in. reading that book was an introduction to an entirely diffrent order for me ( i was in the single digites at the time). in my family growing up my mother was always in charge, and my father always cow towed to her and neither are happy. reading that i relised that things could be diffrent and that the woman didnt always have to be in charge and that if you found the right person you could trust you could let go and not have to always be in control. after that it just seemed a natrual progression for me from books to the internet where i learned the languge, when i was in my middle teens i started playing on line with older men in bdsm chat rooms when i turned 21 i had lost my viriginity and by 23 was expermenting real time with people i had met here on cm. it was just a progression born out of my desire to be a diffrent person and in a diffrent type of relationship then my parents.

The way the OP is worded I can only see as being relevant to those for whom this is just something they DO, an interlude, a pastime.

'First realised that it was what you are' is more likely to be relevant to those for whom this is just who they ARE, their nature and this being the way of life that lets them be themself without any of the pretence.

I was always attracted by submissive traits, that doesn't mean I was finding submissives and thus when My controling nature kicked in (AKA I started to care) boom went the relationship. I was 'attracted to submission' the first time I met and got involved with a young lady who didn't just have submissive traits, but she WAS submissive... and it worked, it felt right. she was older than I and an experienced slave, it was her that gave Me the vocabulary to define what I have always been and understand why it worked with her when it hadn't worked with those who weren't submissive by nature.
