Status: offline 		Well, some in the GOP still refuse to admit the truth about the h
Health Care Bill and abortion and are carry things a little to far.

They always claim the bill does fund abortion, but they never point out the area in the bill that directly states that, in fact even the Catholic Hospital Org supports the bill and says it does not fund abortion

Status: offline 		Apparently there are some democratic members of congress who have read the bill and disagree. If it weren't in there, they wouldn't mind voting for the bill. What are they afraid of ?

Status: offline 		To pass this so-called health care reform will be a symbolic victory at best and far too much like other 'reforms.'

Kinkroids, in America...reform is the re-allocation of profits. As long as there is paper wealth for the capitalist to be divided...he goes along.

Ex: Reform or deregulation of the airlines resulted in local hub monopolies. All of the so-called discount airlines are gone save one, Southwest which had to catch up and play 'follow-the-leader' pricing to compete. Not much of a discount now.

Deregulation of Ma Bell resulted in 9 regional monopolies. (baby bells) For the local dial-tone...we've been raped every since.

Deregulation of elec. power, created manipulation and fraud in parts of the east and almost throughout the west and cost trillions rather than bring in any efficiencies.

There is no real reform in America, only profit interests.

How disingenuous.

Unless abortion is specifically excluded, it is (obviously, duh) provided as any other medical procedure.

Two different organizations of bishops have come out against the bill. They would seem to speak more fully for Catholicism than a hospital organisation, n'est ce pas?

there are so many loopholes the restrictions on abortions are useless

No, she doesnt, because he isnt lying. In the pages he cited are the reasons why abortion restrictions in the Senate bill are impotent. She is lying by omission for only focusing on a few words to the exclusion of others. She is an agenda driven, failed talk show host, and nothing she says can be taken at face value.

I agree it has been too far watered-down, but there are still important provisions that protect the insured regarding pre-existing conditions and limitations on insurers being able to deny coverage to those who become ill.

Jet Blue, Spirit, Airtran, Midwest Express, USA3000, are just a few discount airlines that come to mind.

And Southwest has remained profitable when American, United, and Delta were losing money.

Not to mention the fact that Southwest does not use a hub system.

It is not covered by Medicare/Medicaid. It was one of the compromises made to get them passed in the first place. I agree if youre saying it SHOULD be covered if its legal, but even many pro-choicers dont.

Its generally covered under private policies.
