Federal funds will be available for abortions in this bill. That is the hang up.
So fucking what? What exactly is the problem with federal funds being used to perform a 100% legal medical procedure?

My point exactly.

Because that 100% legal medical procedure is also 100% optional. Barring terminations that are a medical necessity, which would likely be covered and are performed in hospitals daily, the issue most people have is with elective abortion, not termination of a deadly fetus.

I mean, really, if the requirement for federal funding is only that it's legal and medical, sign me up. I'll get my breasts and nose done and finally get around to getting LASIK.

Has anybody addressed the point of why so many people are pissing and moaning about paying for people they didn't get pregnant having abortions specifically when they wouldn't have any problem with (say) paying for some idiot gangbanger who nicked a Bentley and drove it into the back of a truck to get their skull fracture or whatever treated?

While that is slightly off topic, it just further proves the point that the core of the issue is moral, not financial. Financial is just the diversion.

- LA

Yes and no - the only way it's able to even be a moral issue is because it's an elective procedure, and this is going to be the first in a line of problems. There's a huge fuss in AU over covering methadone clinics on Medicare, and about whether smokers or the morbidly obese should have access or should have to pay extra.

A skull fracture, no matter how it happened, is still a skull fracture. It's a health issue. Ending a healthy pregnancy is not a health issue, it's a social issue.

Of course there are. You could get into necrophilia for a start. There's no risk of getting a dead woman pregnant, is there?

And they do not point at you and laugh when you get nake(nake being the present tense of naked)

Aww shit Thompson...that must be a bitch...how ever do you deal with such humiliating occurances?

I stick with the blind and the corpses
Well shit yeah Thompson.....it's easy to see why...what with all of the rest laughing at you when you drop trou....fuck that has got to be a bitch!

Hey, what good is it if we have rigts but never exercise them.

I think that any spawn of worthless circumcised men should be terminated.

If a man's parents were stupid enough to cut his dick then he was born too stupid to pro-create with me.

I would not want to carry an idiot child to full term. It is a disgrace to the human race .......and I am way ahead of ewe.
Let me see if I'm following this....you lay down and spread your legs with this "stupid" man...get pregnant...and than terminate because ,after all he was a "stupid' circumcised man(what you didn't notice earlier)...annd wait a minute isn't the circucision supposed to have left him impotent.
Soory sweetie your train has jumped the track...and you need some help.
Serious,professional help....and quick.

Oh yea right like you never had sex with a stupid man before????

At least I am willing to admit my mistake.

I like what George Carlin said about abortion. That the people that are so against it are the ones you wouldn't want to fuck to begin with! lol

You can't call it an elective procedure. Not getting an elective procedure such as breast augmentation doesn't have negative consequences like bringing an unwanted child into this world.

Killing implies a purpose, people kill to eat or in defense or to defend another.

Murder is killing for some selfish illegal gain.

I'll ask you what I asked Kenny earlier. If a pregnant woman chooses to continue the pregnancy, should that be covered?

to kill is to cause death to an organism, murder is just the man-made version of the term. Nicer way of saying you ceased the existence of, but it still is murder, both have intent, despite the purpose.

Both verbs that imply the same, both sins (if against a human).

But, we can assume now you implied animals or plants.

but, I gotta pizza n wings to kill soon, guess I'm a sinner too.

A woman should be able to have an abortion if she chooses. Taxpayers who disagree with that procedure shouldn't be forced to pay for it. Since it is a private decision, she should pay for it with private funds.

So if you get the clap you should not be covered?

LMAO

First of all "to sin" is a man made concept by religious wack-Os. I do not acknowledge SIN.

People kill for many reasons. The important thing to remember is which country you live in.

The Law of the land has many varied categories of killing.

To decide that causing the death of an organism is by definition murder (instead of the other way 'round) requires ignoring the meanings of the words you're using. It is essentially a decision not to speak English anymore, to invent your own language instead, using the same words but changing their definitions.

no one knows that, yet. To me it is though, but what I care about doesn't matter, is God I'd have to worry about lol, not others.

Hey, she can sin, you can sin, we can all sin. just wanted to clarify that lying or killing is one in the same., one no greater or lesser. If sinning doesn't exist, as proposed, then why mention 'killing isn't a sin'...IF one didn't believe in 'sin' as a realistic concept?

Isn't that like riding a unicorn in your wildest, happiest and fondest fantasies...then to dismiss them as hateful and ridiculous?

lol no worries, I am not a stickler on sinning as I am on verbage.

Many of the people in this forum believe in sin, that is the only reason I called attention to it.

I refer to these people as religious wack-Os and in my opinion they should all be terminated.

How do you like that verbage?

gottcha,

but what I meant is..

"he 'killed' the guy...in self defense.
"he 'murdered' the guy...in his hallway.

they are both causing the death of., thus a sin. Intent or no intent.

I like it very much bella. You can have your opionion (to think lying is not equal to killing as a sin), it is your right. But don't forget, if you believe that, yet deny 'sin' as an existing factor, then the comparason of one being equal or lesser than another is moot, since sin doesn't exist.

*btw, I am fertile mrytle, don't blame me. But, if I didn't want children or had medical issues (as you did) with unwanted pregnancies, I reverberate the legs closed issue.

Woah... not only are you way out of order, you don't have the grace to apologize to a poster you were unjustifyingly rude to, and who offered her personal experience as an example. You obviously have an issue of monumental proportions. Get over whatever it is, and stop being such a bitch to those that have had a different experience from yours.

At least I know that my unicorns are fantasy and in my roleplaying game.

I also have had too many concussions.  I am still hoping to ascend myself in the spiritual sense, but I know that it not happen no matter how many times the definitions change.
