I don't believe in abortion being due because someone is irresponsible and stupid., get over it. No internet women/men are going to change my mind or give me cause to aid in one, nor pat someone on the back for that action and say 'there, there, po thang'.

I really wonder why you feel someone that irresponsible and stupid is better off caring for a child when it's obvious they can't even care for themselves.

The other truly cool thing is that you probably won't ever get pregnant, because I can't see you ever having the kind of sex that would put you at risk. We bask in the marvel of your barrenness.

lmao k, I will tell that to my kids. I will tell them I found them on the doorstep, in a basket, with a note. (from someone who couldn't abort).

and NO, I wouldn't have THAT kind of sex that would put me at risk LOL. I had my children after being married, with a decent and good man/father. I chose a GOOD mate and yummy genetic posibilities. If I do have sex now, I for sure wouldn't consider getting knocked up by some 'one night stand'. Sorry, if you think that is a crime because you believe all women who are irresonsible are brilliant and that is a cool thang.

The topic is women's rights, abortions or other topics in regards to that topic...my stance is that a fetus has as much right as a woman/the woman that carries it.

Well, that is and will be determined (unfortunately at a later date), my point is that people are ignoring the STEP (sex) it took to get pregnant in the first place (high percentage = irresponsibility) and jumping to the end result (abortion) as a means to remedy that., all the while claiming it is their 'right', because it is their body.

It is like the earlier stomach band comparason. That person did not awaken one day to find themselves obese (in order to need that surg), nor did anyone who has an abortion 'wake up' pregnant, alone in a barn, 1000 miles from the nearest male. Doing stupid things, leads one to end up burdening the system (of funds), burdening society (of morals) and burdening themselves (with guilt). Why all the hoo-haw, when someone takes the time to use their brain in the first place, would avoid the entire shabang.

Until science/medicine finds a way to transfer the unborn baby to the father, it will never be equal or what some perceive as fair.  I can't believe that people actually think it doesn't matter that one person grows another human being, and one person doesn't, and that they should be treated the same way.

So you feel that abortion is solely about not wanting to be pregnant, and has absolutely nothing to do with not wanting to have a child?

I disagree, I think that most people who want to have a child would put up with nine months of pregnancy, and the majority of abortions are because the woman (and often her partner) do not want the responsibility of bringing a child into this world that they will have to care for.

So I feel that termination of parental rights and responsibilities should be offered to both parents from the start. The woman can carry or she can abort, the man can sign a paper and pay the $500 that the abortion would have cost to absolve himself of fatherhood. And to be honest I can't see why anyone who is so vehemently saying in this thread "don't make people parents if they don't want to be" would have any issue with extending that right to both parents.

Nature built me to have babies, literally - still, I decided to only have one. And that's where I'll stop. I do love sex though, which puts me at risk, being ultra fertile and what have you. When contraception failed abysmally, I did what I had to do to continue living my life as I intended it to. It's a choice I made, and I'm very grateful I was able to make it without the interference of the moronic and sanctimonious know-it-alls that know fuck all about what's going on in my life.

I know what's going on in theirs, though: not much at all, bar the curtain twitching and the spying on the neighbours [8D] .

Look I really don't know your medical history or anything but if you're certain you don't want to have another child, have you ever considered a more permanent method of birth control like a tubal ligation?

Tubal litigation isn't 100%. I know of a case a few months ago where the woman still got pregnant after tubal litigation. Since she took drastic measures to prevent pregnancy, she should be granted a government funded abortion, right? Medicine failed her, right?

Oh wait, she was in Canada so she was covered...

I'm still young enough that I could change my mind. Who knows what the future brings :-) ?

Besides, if anyone would get snipped, it would be my husband. Easier, quicker, and less risky. Thank you for your concern.

One abortion isn't the end of the world, in a sexual career such as mine :-) .

Nothing other than abstinence is 100% effective so for those who choose not to have a failsafe birth control method it's probably one of the most effective ones there, especially once the person has made the decision that they never want to have a/another child.

I have no issue with government funded abortions in any case so the rest of your comment is completely irrelevant.

That in itself just verified my point about some abortions being done and given to the nonchalant. uhhg

It's just a little cleanup. Nothing to worry about. At four weeks, it's just a little tadpole.

Yeah that's what my husband has...that combined with my messy uterus system means I'm probably never going to have a baby.

And yeah that's kinda sad that I have a sterilized husband and a low chance of getting pregnant myself and I'm still holding out for "probably" [:(]

aka closing your legs., there is NO other proof positive that any other means of birth control will work. (excluding uterus removal in totality), if one is sooo darn concerned about not becoming pregnant with some unwanted child/or they have medical problems.

It was an ignorant comment, a sweeping generalization, and an arrogant and superior thing to say. Women terminate pregnancies from all walks of life, and for all sorts of reasons, and to imply that unwillingly getting pregnant in the first place is somehow alwaysa sign of irresponsibility demonstrates how prejudiced and vindicative you are against those of your own sex.

Is that better?

I wasn't the one who said "ignorant and stupid" those were came4u's words. I was just parroting them in an attempt to understand why she thought someone who was ignorant and stupid would be better off being a parent than not being a parent.

Mom had a few patients where they did the tubal litigations and they still got pregnant.  The women got free prenatal care and the deliveries were free too.  The doctors did the surgeries again, burning the tubes shut this time.

Yeah that's pretty standard procedure now, to cauterize them so they can't grow back together.

It's really cool your mom's practice hooked them up with free care.
