A new poll of what Republicans think is upon us.  This thread is intended to address only one, end of the story, number from that poll.

24 percent of Republicans, 14% overall, think President Obama, "may be the antichrist."  Could he be?

Initial references for those not familiar, but determined to participate anyway, may found in Revelation, chapter 13, but you really ought to read the whole book. 

Any other aspects of the poll, or general attacks on Christians, please go do it on one of Brain's many threads.  This thread is hoped to be topic specific

As someone who was once required to learn this shit, I say nope.

Status: offline 		The poll of 2,230 Americans, taken during last weekend's health care showdown in the House of Representatives, shows how successful Obama's opponents have been in demonizing the 44th president

A new national Louis Harris poll finds that a majority of Republicans believe that President Obama is a Muslim, while 45 percent agree with the so-called "Birthers" that the president was "not born in the United States."

According to the poll, 57 percent of Republicans, and 32 percent of Americans overall, believe that Barack Obama is a Muslim. The opinion comes despite Obama's description in his bestseller, "The Audacity of Hope", of his adoption of the Christian faith

And 24 percent of Republicans, and 14 percent overall, agree that Obama "may be the antiChrist."

The poll found that voters lacking a college education are much more likely to agree with more extreme myths and rumors about the 44th president.

In a more conventional opinion - echoing charges from some House Republicans during the health care reform debate - 67 percent of Republicans believe Obama is a socialist, an opinion held by 40 percent of those surveyed.

I think there is just as much chance as there was with Bush, Clinton, Palin, Pelosi or any other of the hundreds that people have said that about.

Oh and the birthers really need to get a grip. He's the president...deal with it.

Oh and I don't know if Jesus was white, but Ted Nealy was if that helps.

What do you say to that? How is it possible that 45% of Republicans think he is a Muslim? How is that possible?

Were these Republicans leaving a Nascar event or an NRA rally? Where did they find these fuckers?

Is it because they get their news from Rush or Fox and are not ever exposed to an open air environment?

I wonder how they feel about art or music?

Do they still think that Sadam was a part of 9-11?

The anti-christ is just too big to fill the shoes of just one presidency, no no,the ant-christ needs to spread the anti-christness around around. The House of Reps and Senators all contain at least 2% of the anti-christ.. What remains goes to Rush, O'Reiley and Coutler. Spreading himself around to both sides of the political party yet slightly favoring the Republicans ensures a creamy filling of anti-christ in every aspect of government.
