Full story WASHINGTON – Republicans took to the House floor Thursday to plead with those who oppose the Democratic health care overhaul to refrain from violence and threats. Opposition to the health care bill that President Barack Obama signed into law Wednesday is "no excuse for bigotry, threats or acts of vandalism and I condemn such things in the strongest possible terms," said Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana, the House's third-ranked Republican. "Some of our colleagues have received threatening phone calls. A brick has been thrown, a window has been smashed. This is not the right way to respond," added Rep. Joseph Pitts, R-Pa., a leading anti-abortion lawmaker. Hell even Repubs are getting bullets through their windows, but let's keep up the partisan rhetoric and pour some more gas on the fire by blaming the Repubs or the Dems for this fucked up behavior. Hmm... Which Republicans were those getting bullets through their windows? I have not seen one news report of any Republican being targeted as the Democrats have been. My understanding of the article you posted was the Republicans have been denouncing the behavior directed at the Democrats, which I give them credit for, but also see a great deal of hypocrisy in that their rhetoric has encouraged this. Like Boehner's remark calling the passage of the health bill "Armageddon" and saying "it will ruin the country". Hmm... you didn't stop in to correct your statement? Still haven't heard about what I mentioned in my post? Convienient. Just like the media didn't seem to want to report on the threats that Stupak was receiving when he was in opposition to the bill. I think the rhetoric and poliiticization of the threats is going to unfortunately fan the flames of the nuts on both sides and possibly spawn copycats. Hell, who cares about that when you can make a few bucks in campaign contributions....
