Popeye, what if "inhibitants" of some of the other planets and galaxies want to exploit us?
What if some of them are already here?

You are now entering the "twilight zone".

I love this kind of stuff.  I've always found it interesting.  But I also find it a bit odd since we can only see the universe for what it once was.  We are always looking at ancient history.  How are we applying that history to our present time?

But I would tell anyone who is seeking "god/goddess" that It is most likely found inside ones heart, not out in space.

brain, started this thread by saying that he thinks, "maybe" GOD/GODDESS exists because of the discovery of billions of more stars, planets and galaxies.
Check out the first line in his op.

Of course the GODDESS/GOD exists, brain, you silly wabbit.

just looking for God

While the time machine vid was interesting it didn't really answer my question.  And not to pick on you, but what God are you seeking among the stars?  Have you ever heard a baby laugh?  There's where you will find God.  Have you ever felt an unexplained feeling of joy?  There's where you will find God.  Have you ever felt the velvet of a horse's nose?  A sunset of many colors?  The Northern Lights?  A blind person feeling your face?  A butterfly landing on your shoulder?  God is all these things.  All around you.  There is beauty and miracle and joy just free for the taking.  Try it sometime.  There is an abundant life waiting to be lived.  And you don't even need a God to live it if you don't want to.

I bet in 20 years they will "discover" that it is even larger than that.

Anyway, the article just makes the absurdity of fighting over this 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 percent of the universe all the more ridiculous, when we could get real space flight and have infinite space, and resources.

Or I suppose we can fight over this shit forever....

You got that right!

But, but, but brain, you don't believe in GODDESS /GOD!

lol
The universe/stars/other galaxies is just reason 100 zillion that I will always believe in GOD/ GODDESS.

man has no real clue what is out there, but GOD/GODDESS does!
There is a much higher AUTHORITY in the universe than man.
I have always, always believed there is so much "out there" that we can't see, much less even fathom, even with all our fancy technology.

Other galaxies, planets, other "life forms" "other beings".
Imagine the possibilities, and it will take your breath away.

wow, I mean just wow!

How does the fact there is much more out there equate to a God?

In fact, if you go back a few years in history you will find the exact opposite argument, that the Earth was the center of the universe and God's special creation.

We went around on this once.

He doesn't understand changes at the speed of light, and he doesn't understand Einstein.

He thinks that if you shine a light while traveling at the speed of light, it will go faster.

Music, Einstein said that there (was) one exception to the speed of light. It was "The Big Bang" when "everything" moved much faster than the speed of light.

Well, that defies Newton and Galileo instead of Einstein, but yeah, something like that.

Interesting.

Why?

Tachyons, for example, while "faster than light," aren't truly so, as a matter of definition (quantum field vs. the subliminal universe we normally envision).

Any info?
