I would not have wasted a year like Obama did trying to be bipartisan. I guess he had to learn the hard way.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed he knows it's a waste of time with you guys now because you people have never been interested in civility.

Its really funny to see you posting about a supposed lack of civility on the part of a political group who you regularly talk trash about with the lowest possible forms of hate speech imaginable, Brian.

The GOP really has nothing left but namecalling.  Obama ramming through HCR is just an illustration of what he can do if he wishes.  They have no reason to be civil.

It is so hard to choose from the wonderful pictures of the left and their civil protests... Ah here is a nice friendly one, and it includes some family fun time.

Always so funny when a con makes a sweeping claim. The image is from an anarchist fair.
http://www.zombietime.com/anarchist_bookfair_march_18_2006/

Anarchists have as much to do with leftists as the Klan has to do with the average fiscal conservative. Now it will be astonishingly easy to present multitudes of images far more disgusting that are products of right wing groups if we're going down the path of guilt by association. Of course after the tea partiers displays of the last 10 days I would think the right would want nothing what so ever to do with guilt by association any more.

Poor lil feller............you haven't any idea how entertaining your really are.

The really entertaining part......you are the minority. Noisy little fuckers, but still, the minority. And for that I am very grateful.

The RNC reserved the right to call a liar a liar & a baby killer a baby killer...And this upsets the left?

Good.

I'm sorry, what were we talking about?

Oh yes, I remember now, the lack of civility.

Not to mention it was directed at a staunch anti-abortion member.

It's yelling for the sake of yelling.

Intersting how the ones holding the reigns are always the ones seeking civility..

Where was this statement prior to the '08 cycle.

I don't know.

Where was it when the Republicans were trying to dredge up everything on the Clintons they could.

And it is only being repeated with Obama.

With Bush at least they were legitimate attacks on his policies, not questions of where Obama was born or how Clinton made creative use of a cigar.

Good Op-Ed, LaT. I have been thinking about the Civil Rights Era since when the reports of name calling, threats and broken windows began.

I agree, a happy go lucky, socially liberal, womanizer like Bill was bound to benefit a bunch of old Gorean types.

So the attacks on Bush were legitimate attacks on policies? Funny, I seem to remember a whole lot of em being on his intelligence, or just out-right attacks of the man.

Let's also not forget about all of the civil remarks by our elected officials discussing middle America and their beliefs. To them I say, if you start swatting a hornets' nest with a stick, you should expect to get stung.

The call for a bipartisan signing of this civility statement is a joke and merely political theater attempting to misdirect and deflect attention. As Tim stated earlier, welcome to the mid-term election cycle.

It is calling out the minority party and forcing them to publicly affirm their rejection.

That's fair enough. But it is indeed election theater. On both sides.
