I wasn't taught the art of making coffee by barbaric American dishwater drinkers. I use a coffee press like the rest of the civilized world. Cheap Kenya AA dark roast fine espresso grind or Jamaica Blue Mountain medium grind. If you insist on a Colombian coffee, then at least have the good sense to do what the Scotts do to crappy scotch . . . blend it. There are many tolerable blends. Of all the coffee consumed by all the people on this forum, how many of you have bought real coffee beans (green) and roasted them yourself? You don't have to have an expensive tumbler. You can use a hot air popcorn machine or even roast them in the oven as a last resort. I admit, without some expensive gear, roasting your own isn't going to be as good as a commercially roasted coffee. But if you are hardcore coffee drinker, you should roast your own at least once in your life. It will raise your awareness and appreciation for the art. And buy a coffee press for Christ's sake.
