heh.  CM requires one to choose a label.  Any label that I would normally choose is not listed as an option. I am not anything listed, therefore the automatic assumption that I am a submissive/switch/dom and therefore guaranteed to fall into whatever stereotype the respondee holds in their head is immediately invalidated.

"Being called a slut is a turn on."  This is actually something I've been working on in my head for a couple of months now.  My current master finds the word "slut" very appealing.  I have very, very negative connotations associated with it.  I thought that perhaps in time I'd adjust my perspective, but I'm finding that it's actually not getting any better (and yeah, before anybody jumps down my throat, it's on my "things to talk about when we're in the same room without kids" list).  I ~am~ sexually uninhibited, but I do not like humiliation ~at all~ and that's what triggers in my head when I hear the word.  (I'm not saying anybody who likes humiliation is a moron, or anything like that.  It's just absolutely NOT something I enjoy at all.  In fact, it's likely to cause me to avoid whatever prompted the humiliation... hence the importance of having that chat with the Jarl-type guy. ;)

I can't help you out on getting used to, or liking being called a slut, but I can probably explain why your Master finds calling you a slut appealing to him. I say probably because I obviously don't know exactly what he is thinking.

To a man, having a slutty woman want him and only him means he is so good at satisifying her that she does not need to go anywhere else for sex. So it is not meant so much as a deragatory comment about you, it is meant more as a boast about him. And a man wants his woman to be a slut for him as well, which means always wanting him sexually, even though he would not want you to be a slut for someone else.

So perhaps when he calls you a slut you should reply with something like "Just for you Master."

That male subs/slaves are wimps.  I've more than held my own in the outside world, and have done well enough, thank you very much.  Bears no resemblance to how I am with a partner, and I can be very protective and assertive when She is concerned.

the assumption that in order to be a "real" or "true" slave, one must be held against one's will within a society that condones/supports the legal ownership of a human being.

ditto this one. ditto also Icary's point, that a "doormat" submissive is assumed to be something negative and undesirable.

other stereotypes/misconceptions that burn my toast:

that the D/s way of life is about fun and games, or kinky sex.
that no person can "really" be in control of another
that being submissive (or dominant) is always a choice
that no one actually lives as Master and slave, day in and day out, without "time-outs" or exceptions made for family/kids, careers, school, PMS,  or anything else.
