Sanity -> RE: Tea Party declares war on the English Language (4/5/2010 10:25:11 AM)

Q: How do you spell "popular"?

A: T-e-a   P-a-r-t-y.    [;)]

quote:

Tea Party 48% Obama 44%

On major issues, 48% of voters say that the average Tea Party member is closer to their views than President Barack Obama. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 44% hold the opposite view and believe the president’s views are closer to their own.

I'm just skeptical, because I've learned that just because someone claims something on the Internet that doesn't mean its true. I suppose you haven't learned that particular lesson yet?

The signs in the pictures could have been made by anyone, and political ideologues haven't hesitated to stoop that low in the past.

I bet a lot of those signs were made by Libtards like you who are merely trying to obfuscate the real issues, which are record deficits and an erosion of Liberty. On a lot of them there isn't even any indication that they were at a Tea Party rally, anyone could have made the sign and taken the picture.

So here we have it, Liberals are misspelling signs and going around the country pretending to be dumb ass Republicans.... Sanity sees right through the ruse and saves the day.

This is making me think though, maybe you should scrap the health care bill and spend it on spelling lessons.

You do realise everything in your last post would apply to every damm post you make.
Skepticism is the watchword when reading anything under your nick!

thornhappy -> RE: Tea Party declares war on the English Language (4/5/2010 2:40:25 PM)

The question set was a bit weird - the issues were never spelled out; they were just labeled as "major issues".  That definition could be all over the map depending on the group, and you'd have to assume that your major issues were the same as another group's major issues.  I'd have been taken to the woodshed if I'd written a set of questions like that for a statistics class.

In addition, the two populations seem to be government or union (implied with teachers), with tea partiers being the only non-union group.  There are bound to be bunches of folks that are non-union but not tea party members:

1* When you think about the major issues facing the country, whose views are closest to your own—the average member of a labor union or the average tea party member? 35% The average member of a labor union
45% The average tea party member
20% Not sure

2* When you think about the major issues facing the country, whose views are closest to your own the average member of a labor union or the average Member of Congress? 33% The average member of a labor union
20% The average Member of Congress
46% Not sure

3* When you think about the major issues facing the country, whose views are closest to
your own the average public school teacher or the average tea party member? 47% The average school teacher
41% The average tea party member
12% Not sure

4* When you think about the major issues facing the country, whose views are closest to your own the average public school teacher or the average Member of Congress? 53% The average school teacher
15% The average Member of Congress
32% Not sure

5* When you think about the major issues facing the country, whose views are closest to your own President Barack Obama or the average tea party member? 44% President Barack Obama
48% The average Tea Party member
8% Not sure

Word.

Those signs were pretty funny though. "Feedom doesn't come free" is bloody priceless. [8D]

Well its easier to make a mistake typing, you would think writing out a great big sign, you  would be more attentive to detail, but yes neither party, gender or religion or IQ level or anything else has the market on fucking up. To pretend otherwise is just dumb

I would have said the same thing about a tattoo, but there was a thread on misspellings that was great.

Lets be serious here, granted there is no proof that they`re at a tea rally. I know that you know, deep down, they are Republican voters.

No I don't believe everything that anonymous people post on the Internet, Politesub53.

Never have, never will.

And odds are good that this is a part of an orchestrated smear campaign because Liberals hate the issues that the Tea Party are raising. Liberals are scared and they feel they have got to derail the discussion at any cost, which is why they have to pretend that all the Tea Partiers are racists or have poorly written signs.

The actual Tea Partiers' issues are driving the Liberals here to utter madness, and no, I wouldn't put anything past them.

yesss funny, I have been collecting some of my favourites,  and they dont even have the "English is my second language" excuse.
Maybe they are going on the premise that a badly spelled sign will garner more attention/memory retention than a properly spelled one.

No...........they're just uneducated morons being led around on a leash by Dick Armey and his army of health care corporations.

On a side note though, have you noticed the biggest dicks this country has ever seen have been Dicks?

Dick Nixon, Dick Cheney, and now Dick Armey.

What would it take to convince you this is true then, given that you seem to have no problem with believing it, when such stuff is said about Obama.

Sanity -> RE: Tea Party declares war on the English Language (4/5/2010 4:43:52 PM)

Are there actual voices in head telling you all these ridiculous things about me? I don't hate Iranians or any Middle Eastern people on account of their nationality and I don't believe every crazy thing thats posted on the Internet about Obama, either.

You're simply delusional.

No, it's actually driving me to crying from laughing so hard.

What issues are we talking here?

Having English as our official "lanaguage"?

I seem to recall you posting swathes on stuff about Obama, using dubious websites as links, right around election time. If that makes me delusional, then I am fine with it.

Sanity -> RE: Tea Party declares war on the English Language (4/5/2010 4:50:02 PM)

Obama's record deficits that even his own secretary of state admits are a threat to our national security is the primary issue for the Tea Party protesters.

News to you is it? Thats not a surprise. [8|]

Jeffff -> RE: Tea Party declares war on the English Language (4/5/2010 4:53:19 PM)

I agree with you that the deficits are huge.

What I would like to know is what was your alternative? The collapse of the entire financial system?

Really what would you have like to seen done?

Sanity -> RE: Tea Party declares war on the English Language (4/5/2010 4:57:28 PM)

Oh, you mean, like, he had a crazy, hate-filled racist preacher named Jeremiah Wright?

No, unfortunately that one was true.

Or that he was an inexperienced junior senator lacking any kind of executive experience?

No, so sorry - that was true as well.

In short, I think your real problem is facing facts and reality that are at odds with your belief system, and not with me at all
.

Is it really that hard to understand? I would like to see a real effort to cut spending as opposed to every effort possible to expand it.
