No ,on the hide button thing Rich,I'm just too Irish and thick headed to do that.Besides the likes of him mean less than nothing to me....it is amusing to watch him take such pleasure from being called an asshole. I get the idea he feels that represents me losing my temper or something...perhaps moments after firing off the post I walk over where the family dog is lying and just kick him in the teeth...all because tommie there got under my skin.[:D] What a silly proposition.[:D]

Getting back to what we were discussing...why the U.S. continued in the face of failure. I am prone to agree with your opinon that it was just arrogance that demanded the fulfillment of a concept even in the face of failure. The Britts saw the problem and took appropriate action. The results were similar but the loss of life and material was dramatically less.
