I definately don't change how I flirt in the slightest and wasn't trying to suggest that anyone does. More trying to figure out what kinds  of flirting are tied to power dynamics and BDSM and what people find appealing and unappealing about those types.


I guess that's what's confusing to me then. I only ever flirted with men who are a dominant personality whether they had ever heard of bdsm or not,  who I wanted to get to know better for possibly dating. Now that I'm taken I have almost no use for flirting except with Master.  Most men barely even catch my eye anymore.


I haven't been lucky enough to only flirt with dominant men. I have discovered, through potential courtships, that I've had intital interest in men only to discover we wouldn't work because they aren't dominant. The question is more to examine the dom/sub aspect of flirting and how people will consider one thing to be flirting and others not in the slightest.

See, I've got this one sussed-I'm not much of a flirt in the 'insert flirtatious witty line here' stye of flirting, but I smile at *everyone*, and touch people's forearms a lot, and I wink, and I say 'Oh, really?' whenever someone says something that could be innapropriately misconstrued.

These things have earned me a reputation as a flirt without having to be smooth enough to actually flirt.

As far as I can tell, that's all you really need.

It is making someone feel comfortable, getting them to smile, relax and laugh. It's letting someone know that there is an interest that goes beyond the norm. It's about giving someone your attention at the right pace and to not make the flirtee feel like their personal space has been invaded.

Once the connection has been made then it is fairly safe to surmise that all of their personal spaces will not only be invaded but abused......Yay!!!

The biggest part of flirting or starting off in a conversation with someone that you have interest in is to be able to discern when someone is just being polite and someone has an actual interest.

Lots of folks seem to have an inability to decipher between the two.

Status: offline 		Funny... flirting is just conversation to me. As the years have gone by, I've noticed that my flirty style has altered into something deeper and more sincere. I am able to really focus on someone I'm in convesation with or who has my attention. Like there is no one else in the world. That can be quite seductive even though it isn't usually my intent. It does make me see how beautiful people are - people I wouldn't have noticed previously. They seem to glow when they have your full attention.

If there were an Olympic sport for flirting, I could win it. yes indeed. However, I don't flirt with people I'm attracted to. I don't like the risk of rejection. So if I ignore someone or am really tough and completely non-sensual with them, I really like them.
