Hi,

since a short time ago I have to travel a lot for my job.

I have not expected to face so many problems with organizing my private life when I am abroad three weeks per month.

One point which goes way to short is bdsm.

Has anybody experience with acting out bdsm in unknown cities/countries and could some good advice?

Go to the local munches in all the cities you regularly get to. Become friends with the regulars.

I have considered the approach with professional partners. It´s just not my cup of tea.

I travel the country for my job. If you go to the same place(s) fairly regularly, it is possible to make arrangements there

Not to plug another website, especiall a pay site, but ALT free membership allows access to their groups, and most major cities have their munches posted in their local groups.

I think the biggest problem for business-trip escapades is timing.

In general, you're there on a business trip from Monday morning through Friday morning and that's just not when the really jam-packed D/s parties rock.

Of course, you can hit up Bondage-a-Go-Go on Wednesday evenings in SF ... but for the most part, Friday nights and Saturday nights are gonna' be your hot nights.

Another problem you'll be dealing with on business trips is monthly events never seem to coincide neatly with the week that you happen to be in town.

Other than that, I'm not sure how it's any different than scheduling a visit from home to the local dungeon ...

check out fetlife, they are geared towards activities/gatherings. And i understand places in Europe may be more kink friendly than the US.

Alecta, I am traveling to US, UK, Scandinavia, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, China and Australia. Do you know some nice places there we could go to?

Capthook55, unfortunately the only places I see on a regular bases are the bigger airports of Europe. (Are there BDSM lounges? It´s a market niche!)

Make yourself VERY familiar with the laws in the country you will be visiting. In a lot of places, sexuality is criminalized in various ways, and you do NOT want to have to have your embassy trying to extract you from some problem your dick led you into.

A couple of examples:

When I was single and traveled for work.. I carried my toys with me.. I went to munches, meetings and dungeons... and I had a bottom on every port..  sort of... or I liked to think so.. I had a great time.. and if I didn't have some where to go, or someone to play with.. I practiced on hotel pillows.

but there are lots of listings online of stuff in various cities and towns.. some research and you'll probably find stuff -- if all else fails find the gay or artsy part of town.. the local free weekly and ask people questions... or the local sex store.. they also might be helpful

Please tell me more about your time of traveling! Where have you been? What kind of people have you met? Have you made some experience Drifa is mentioning? How have you succeeded to get your bondage chair into your suitcase?

Thanks for the hint of research options and the movie shown in my mental cinema.

I wasn't really aware that my flogger had a lead-shot loaded handle until I was a little late for a plane and what would normally have been checked luggage became carry-on. Sure enough, they had to open the luggage and there was much fascination of the item by the airport security staff.

My sister, who was travelling with me, stood by shaking her head and saying, "Damn, I can't take you anywhere!" (None of HER toys showed up on X-ray).

I just have to say that when I was looking years ago and met some men here for business from far away who were here for business...the majority are just looking for a booty call...maybe with some bdsm involved....Just my experience....Maybe someeone should do a poll!  ha ha

It's a lot easier for women to find a casual playpartner at an event without knowing people beforehand than it is for men. You'll probably need repeated trips, or at least to participate on local forums/etc. (perhaps through FetLife) to get to know people before expecting to play.
