Eventually yes, I would expect pictures to be exchanged. But everyone works at their own pace. He just may not be ready or willing to send one at this time. Maybe he feels that looks should not be a deciding factor on his part.

/shrug

Who knows.

Lordandmaster -> RE: the 'pic' exchange question (4/4/2006 8:39:27 AM)

I wouldn't meet anyone in person who doesn't send a pic first.

MissyRane -> RE: the 'pic' exchange question (4/4/2006 9:19:31 AM)

Personally I don't share my pic to people I don't know at all, but if I've been talking to them for a little while a pic shouldn't really be a problem[&:]

proudsub -> RE: the 'pic' exchange question (4/4/2006 3:28:11 PM)

I can understand not wanting a pic floating around the internet. But there should be no reason for him not to get on cam for you, IMHO.[:)]

FangsNfeet -> RE: the 'pic' exchange question (4/4/2006 3:49:55 PM)

Pic or no pic, if this conversing is going to move forward, then you'll both be meeting each other in a public place anyways. Some people don't send pics out of paranoia. Others don't do it just to be a tease. Then, you have people who have yet learned how to down load pics in there computer and are ashamed to admit it. Pics and be decitfull anyhow so you really can't earn trust with pics. It all boils down to that first meeting for it to really go anywhere.

Web cams can still be used for recording and pausing frame per frame making visual session into many pictures to float around.

slavejali -> RE: the 'pic' exchange question (4/4/2006 3:54:50 PM)

Can the receiver do that FangsNFeet? If i ever knew that i would have NEVER done webcam lol

fastlane -> RE: the 'pic' exchange question (4/4/2006 3:57:18 PM)

I'm perfectly comfortable with descriptions of one's self.
You can learn sooooo much more then by just looking at a pic.
Like can they write, converse, describe and articulate.
Then I want a pic....because they are probably lying!

I'm so purdy!  Kevin

Absolutly. Anything sent to me by web cam, I can save the footage as a file and do with it as I wish. Have you flashed anyone lately?

Isn't there a "no capture " type option that you can activate?

I have no idea though it sounds like it does exist. However, I could just hook the internet to my TV and hit record with either my DVR or with a VHS tape. We are on the internet PS and there is always a loop hole.  After all, there's more than one way to skin a cat.

I'm not sure if there is, but I have screen capture software (for work) that allows me to snag any picture that is on my screen.  That would include individual webcam pics.

mnottertail -> RE: the 'pic' exchange question (4/4/2006 9:39:49 PM)

I personally send pictures of my dick right off, because I know that is what women care about but they are too feminine to say it.

I read lots of flowery, poetic asswipe profiles, in passing, but for fucks sake if you hate yourself, why piss on me?

If you wanna talk, show a picture........... if your  priest is on the site and looking to bust you for it or an ex-husband or your tits are crooked or you think I am gonna rape your uncle and your aunt because you try to be real, then don't.......... I don't so give a shit.........but don't expect that I owe you something that you cannot give either.........

LOL, it is SO fucked up.

I would proceed with caution. Do not rule this guy out totally, but a yellow flag is waving and it deserves attention. If his statement is that he doesn't send a picture out to strangers then ask him why he is talking to you to begin with. There is a certain give and take that has to go on in an online courtship... if he is unwilling to take those risks then I would say thanks but no thanks and move on.

i disagree.  this is a red flag extraordinaire in my book.  there have been rare occasions where i have patiently waited for a picture.  i explain that even if they don't have a digital camera they can take recent pictures to a Kinkos and have them scanned and put into digital form on a CD.  then they can upload them quite easily and do not have to worry about the 'hard drive crashed' standard line that so many guys use.  i will even patiently give out detailed instructions on how to upload a picture.

in this day and age though, i have NOT much patience for a guy who thinks he is going to hook you by talking to you and not letting you see him.  my experience is that he is playing head games with you.  PERIOD.

give him a deadline and offer no more discussion until you see a picture of him.

he is most likely married, in jail, or a child pretending to be an adult.

you will discover that what he is doing is so common that you will need to develop your own set of standards for dealing with it.  let me ask you this, how many pictures of you has he asked for?  has he asked for any that are revealing?  ......think about your conversations .......  think about what you have revealed to a faceless person that may be personal..... think think think

I have to ask: is this really a problem for people? Someone asked me recently if my screen name is a reference to my being in jail. The answer is no - I am not in jail. But what gives? Do prisoners lead fabulous online lives or something?

BTW, my screen name references a sleazy series of suspense novels by the author Rex Miller. Chaingang Bunkowski is a tall, massive, and precognant serial murderer. The gist of it is something like the website Hogtied meets Silence of the Lambs:

FWIW, I am neither tall nor necessarily massive...I just needed a screen name for this site that sounded cooler than "Sir Dragon's Flames" or whatever...

mnottertail -> RE: the 'pic' exchange question (4/4/2006 10:48:23 PM)

well, they are already thinking you got a boyfriend................and they are not looking to mess with that dynamic.
LOL,
Ron

total apologies.  i meant no reference to you.  on a side note, i kind of like Sir Dragon's Flames.......

yes, prisoners can have limited internet access depending on the policies that were implemented where they are incarcerated.  and of course, like all internet connections that are blocked/limited, there are holes and ways to get where you want to go.

there is also house arrest, halfway houses and other varieties of strange circumstances.
