Uncle Nasty sent me this link.

I can't help but wonder when it will finally dawn on the masses who's really running the show in this country. This is the inevitable result of a monetary-based capitalistic structure that most of us have endeared ourselves to.

More greed, corruption, exploitation, deceit, collusion, and conspiracy by your masters... the shadowy revolving door of finance/corporate/government.

I really think moderates are playing with fire by permitting as much as they do.

I think the purpose of modern abstraction in business and finance is precisely to make this type of violence as invisible as possible.

Like this whole derivatives game -- the amount of toil this game cost might equate with a major war in terms of loss of life and quality of life.

this is the same shit they pulled in the teens and twenties that caused the crash.  Difference being that today we have infinite liquidity so the dollar aint worth shit.

Almost as if it were planned that way huh ? Well look at the results.

We knew what we were doing, the whole thing got fucked up. We didn't want taxpayer money, but we got a hell of alot of it. So now we say we didn't know what we were doing. Sorry, got to go to the yacht club and have my 250 footer put in the water. Talk to ya later.

Sorry, but I know motherfuckers when I see them. Go ahead and say it takes one to know one. Oh, and be a motherfucker to me while you're at it. People just don't understand. That article is about as whiney as Greenspan admitting fault. It was after the fact and didn't cost him a dime. Big deal. A motherfucker like that should be boiled in bacon grease. (no racial slur here, the fact is that bacon grease can withstand alot of heat)

Another fact is this, if I decided to be a real MF I could probably make (usually) about $300 every 12 minutes. Now that's not quite as well as "they" do but it can be within my grasp. I could schmooze over anything damnear when it comes to discovery of my profiteering. I choose not to do it. They choose to do it.

If someone hurts me financially, in certain ways, I know how to retaliate and will do so. But we did no such thing to banks. It was greed on their part. Perhaps I detest it so much because I know I could easily fall into that trap.

However my retaliation would net me something. I know someone who after getting fucked over by a neighbor mounted a BB gun on his front porch banister out of sight, aimed right at the guy's rear car window. Every so often he goes out there with a beer and pulls the string, which costs the guy another back window for his car. This happened so many times he now drives around with no back window. OK, that's some decent revenge, but it netted the person I know nothing. I don't settle for that. I can get back at someone just by having their property destroyed, but that does me no good. Also I would not avoid detection, I would want them to know where it is coming from.

But all we did to "them" was to make them rich. And now after doing it voluntarily we are doing it involuntarily. We do not deserve such treatment.

There is a statement "through inflation and deflation, our progeny would find themselves slaves in the land their forfather fought for" or something to that effect. What kind of people do that ? Those who founded this country knew, because such people existed back then. Another quote, loose of course "in strife, we offer a branch which the state must grab, willy nilly, or sink to the bottom". Very few understand this mentality, and therefore do not understand what has gone on.

Tying together true intent with background is a tricky thing. But as evidence we have the background and we have the results for evidence. Is the person trespassing on your property truly lost or is he a poacher ? I know both types and the barrell of a gun does nothing to discern one from the other.

However if we had any degree of solidarity we can affect a change without any really harsh measures. Just don't buy anything, especially houses. Let the market stagnate for as long as possible. Forego the new car, plasma TV, all the things we don't need. DO NOT call Cash For Clunkers, DO NOT shop for a house. Let it all go until they hurt. It is our money that fuels their escapades, therefore that is our main method of control. Ever hear of a boycott ?

And don't kid yourself, the founders of this country were rich Men. (mostly) The difference is that they decided not to be MFs. That there were things more important than money. You bring enough weaponry to the ghetto and it is easy to start a riot or revolution, but just try it with people who have it good. One said "if you want to test a Man's character, give him power".

The founding Fathers may have passed the test, but in modern times nearly all fail it.

From my observation, the fastest way to motivate people into action is to ‘make it about them’. It would help to have some sort of plan toward betterment. I realize you have an idea towards an end result, but what we need right now are ideas on how to start.

Unfortunately, even with a place to start, it is possible the majority still won’t act until it becomes necessity.

However, sometimes, if ya come up with a real good one; a witty phrase with a catchy tune can work wonders. Any ideas? [:D]

Appeal to their emotions, instead of their logic? ... [:D]

mnottertail -> RE: The Aristocratic Tyranny Our Founding Fathers Sought to Protect Our Republic From (4/8/2010 11:56:35 AM)

Well, it works to appeal to emotions.

The only ones who didnt know this was going on, and will continue to go on, given the long standing and still current ideology, is 'wal-mart republicans'.

People (individually and in mobs) will do many things that are clearly against their best interests.

I saw a History Channel show about Benjamin Franklin.

He was a super kinky and had a dungeon for wild parties and crazy bdsm fun.

The founding fathers were pretty cool if you think about it.

Actually most people are pretty kinky...they just haven't realized it yet.

As soon as we have freedom from religion then everybody can be kinky without fear of condemnation and tyranny.

That was then.

This is NOW.

The thing is, sf, that this news is over 250 years old.

Yes, Ron's right.

A quick glance at any "fat thread" or any obvious right vs. left thread will clearly demonstrate that emotion is where the action is.

This is why we are so easy manipulated, pitted against each other, and easy patsies for the PTB to "govern."

Which? The former, the latter, or both?

sf, our entire history has been shaped by corporate interests, from before the revolution to now.

Power lies with capital.

No, I don't think it's any secret that the Founding Fathers were an assembly of rich white guys.

Are you suggesting that for the past 250 years, we've had a shadowy revolving door of finance/corporate/government, which included greed, corruption, exploitation, deceit, collusion, and conspiracy? Or are you just stating the obvious, that those who had the capital also had the power?

I'm all for the peaceful method. The hard part is... how do we raise the collective consciousness of the masses?

LadyEllen -> RE: The Aristocratic Tyranny Our Founding Fathers Sought to Protect Our Republic From (4/9/2010 3:28:22 AM)

This is a bit like the war thread where the innocent guys were killed by the attack helicopter - its a surprise that anyone might be surprised that stuff like this goes on and its simply par for the course. If millions protesting cant stop wars, then what seriously does anyone think might roll back this particular crime against humanity?

Leaders everywhere are taking credit for limiting us to a recession rather than standing by and presiding over depression. Sure enough, no one would want a depression - but then no one should want what we got when we were "saved" - basically our glorious leaders propping up a poor system with our money and trying desperately to revive it and restore it just as it was before - a deeply flawed and globally dangerous model. What we needed perhaps was the shock of a depression by which, as per the last time round, the model would be remade so as to provide stability and wealth for decades through proper regulation and oversight. It was the rollback of such proper regulation and oversight, from the 80s on, that seeded this particular bed of virulent weeds.
