Seems to me the deciding factor in both of these viewpoints is the desire to believe or disbelieve is driviing the bus.


It's not a matter of trusting any damn thing.  Nor is it possible to know what truly lies in anyones heart.

However, I operate on a "trust but verify" MO for all people: listen to the words, and then watch and see if the actions match the words.

So far, her words upon resignation seems to match pretty closely what she said she would do.

I'm particularly jaded when it comes to politicians as well, but at the end of the day, unless you wish to overthrow our elected government, politicians are what we elect.  Occasionally we get a statesman, but to expect one is really naive.

I'll settle for someone who stated intentions fairly matches their actions.

So far, neither you nor brainiacsub have shown a disconnect between her resignation reasons, and her actions after her resignations.

Status: offline 		Firm lest there be any misunderstanding between us concerning that last post....brainiac is indeed right,there is a world of difference between you and Sanity.Though we disagree on much I generally respect you and the way you present your opinions and beliefs.I was just seeking to draw a comparison between the levels of examination a given thing is put thru before one chooses to accept or deny that thing.
I happen not to trust nor like Miss Palin...so lets be honest I am not too likely to take her at her word.I guess we all bring our own stuff to the table.

Firm, I can't speak for Mike, but the problem I have with her is I don't believe her stated reasons. She suffers from deplorable character flaws (the same suffered by many politicians) in addition to an obvious lack of formal education and intelllect which makes her incapable of seeing how woefully unqualified she is for national office.

I see her as a tragic Shakespearean character who has all the ambition but not the ability to succeed.
