slvemike4u -> RE: A chance to brag a bit (4/19/2010 8:20:29 AM)

Let's see here...I have to thank Miss Starlett, who allways brings a smile to my face(and a chill to my spine...lol),Twistedwillow who though she claims to be slow actually still had plenty of time(I'm not kidding about keeping this on the first page till he actually graduates...lol),Lance Hughes who wrote a lovely post replete with dire threats....lol and Jinger who claims I brought a smile and thinks I should tell him about my post....or perhaps the feelings contained within? Jinger I assure you that young man(there it goes again) has been told since he was just my little boy how much I love him and just how proud I am of him....if anything I think he is of the opinion that I am a bit annoying....but that's okay....one day I won't be here and the last thing he will think of is that I told him too often that I love him. Thanks guys!

Awww Mike..how wonderful for you and your son! I was not blessed with children, but I know how proud I was to see my neice graduate ASU top honors. She was the first on my side of the family to graduate collage. I am so proud of her and she is just my neice. You can imagine how it would be if she were my daughter.

I wish your son all the happiness in the world and you sound like you did a wonderful job raising him. Kudos to you! <Hugs!>

MoGa

Come on folks there must be thousands and thousands of CollarMe subscribers.....and I have to go all the way to the 3rd page to find this wonderful thread.
There are some amongst us who are clearly not pulling their weight around here. Now come on lets get off our asses and support this thread...we only need to keep it afloat for another 19 days....is that too much to ask?[:D]

I told you that you need to start Fed-Exing those bottles of Jack.

Bribery can be a beautiful thing.

But I will give you one post for free, because that's just the kind of generous guy I am.

Seriously though, congratulations to you and your son.

Better late than never RML....let me know when the first bottle arrives.I didn't like the looks of that FedEx guy....no lying but he bore a remarkable resemblance to W.C Fields.....nose and all.[8|]

Mike...that is so awesome! Your son has a very special dad[:)]

I'm not so sure about all of that Holly...what I am absolutely positive of is that this Dad....has a special son [:D].

This is very cool. During the long journey of raising them from infant to school to teenager (in many ways back to infant), it can often seem like a victory to get them to adulthood without killing them, them killing themselves or someone else. You've clearly done a brilliant job and deserve all the bragging you have earned.

Congratulations to you and your son. You definitely earned your bragging rights for his accomplishments. [;)]

Well the long two days are now in the memory banks.....last night was the Tisch School's celebration of the Class of 2010 at WaMu theater ,which was simply amazing....great speaker ,dance and a big musical finish...two handkerchiefs easy.
Today was Yankee Stadium.....cold ,wet,windy.....and cold(did I mention cold....I've been warmer during Oct.World Series night games than I was today).Bagpipes(oh yeah...we had bag pipes at the Wa Mu ;-)...I love Bagpipes....I'm Irish  ,lol.Great Speakers(who,I suspect to a one, shortened their planned remarks)the highlight of course was Alec Baldwin...who was mercifully succinct....but funny....inspiring and amazingly appropriate to the occasion.
On top of all of this my son moved from successful "student of..."to nervous and apprehensive "Alumni of......The Tisch School at New York University"
I am immensely proud......in addition I probably have pneumonia......lol.

I'm sure the memory will warm up plenty as the months and years go by, Mike. Congratulations!
