If an angel were to want to take over heaven, got kicked out, so he created his own design of heaven as he would have if he were successful...would he not want to create a world/realm that would be as equal to heaven?

In appearance, and according to what means are available; sure, but if truth and life can only be given by those in heaven, what would this other have of real value to offer?

quote:

Why would someone who wanted to create a "Better Heaven" create on of fire & brimstone, pain, suffering & despair?

This is an individual that felt they were not being given their fair credit; being worshiped is their main objective.

quote:

who would want to go to a place like that?

Others who also feel they are ‘entitled’.

If there's a god, it either has the world's most wicked sense of humor, or it's just one sick fuck.

This is why you are such a miserable fuck. I don't really believe, but I could see the good where you can only see the negative.

Your cup is not half full. It has been dipped in dung, smashed and then you were forced to eat it.

DerangedUnit -> RE: What is your faith/spiritual/secular perspective? (4/12/2010 7:48:34 AM)

of course i myself don't take the bible in a literal sense... of course i shouldn't expect anyone these days to comprehend sarcasm... i was simply pointing out that people that follow ONLY what the bible says(every christian i was raised around) should read more carefully...though obviously you aren't having an open discussion you should really note that when you post asking for opinions.

Smutmonger -> RE: What is your faith/spiritual/secular perspective? (4/12/2010 7:56:13 AM)

I'm a humanist.

I seem to be totally lacking any semblance of "the god gene" that seems to drive so many people to inherent silly thought and deed-at least in the religious sense.[:D]

The OP asked "What is your faith/spiritual/secular perspective?"

The OP didnt ask for a slam against others, now did it, as you posted.

There ya go with the assumptions again, since it's your thing, I'll just assume you were a victim of a pedophile Priest, only you didn't report it because you loved it, you may have lost your faith, but found your love of cock...

Aren't projections grand?

This point relies on those who wrote the "Bible" and thus still is from only one perspective...those seeking to control other's lives out of fear and "spooky language"

This is an individual that felt they were not being given their fair credit; being worshiped is their main objective.

if said person were to truly want to be "worshiped" so, would it not be logical to appeal to those they seek to have worship them by creating a comparative alternative to "Heaven"? not something people would dread or fear?

(on a side-note: why do people use the term "God-fearing" when discussing their beliefs? If "God" really and truly loved us, why fear him? Just curious)

Why? Am I not allowed to have my own perspective? What if I had a reliable source that others did not know of?

Nothing belongs to him so he has nothing to offer, but deciet.

I can not speak for how others use it, I personally would not. However, I can relate to the terms 'awe inspiring' and 'admiration'.

I don't believe God does want us to fear him. I suspect, those who teach that, but know better, are attempting to get individuals to 'damn' themselves.

according to whom? the people that wrote the "bible"? how do we know this is a fact?

I do not know the nature of 'God' but I believe in It/Him/Her/Them...and I derive comfort from that belief.

Simple logic.

To figure out what would constitute a ‘one true God’, all you need to do is figure out what is the one thing that matters to all things?

Answer: life; without it, nothing else matters. It all belongs to him, because it is all a part of him.

The one you are asking about chose to turn away from life.

again...where's the proof of this...all anyone has is the written words of an ancient book that, so far, has not provided on shred of tangible proof. They are simply that...just words.

Musicmystery -> RE: What is your faith/spiritual/secular perspective? (4/12/2010 10:31:53 AM)

It's also circular reasoning.

But the OP asked about people's faith. Kim has shared that.

The debate over it perhaps could start a new thread, if you're so inclined.

I'm only able to give you my perspective of the topic, and would not expect, nor want you to simply take my word for it.

My perspective comes from my observations and experiences in this existance, along with a comparison of some present, and some past beliefs, with another source.

Granted, as far as I know, I am the only one who uses that source, but that doesn't automatically make it inaccurate; does it?

No assumptions whatsoever. it is a continual battle between you and servant 4use to see who is the most miserable fuck on the site.....Does it escape you that no one pays any attention to you but to admonish your behavior? I have never seen anyone joke around with you or even attempt to feign that they are happy to see you.

Everyone thinks you are kind of pathetic. You should try and be more happy.

maybe we could start a thread instead of "ask an anteater" it could be, "Ask subrob..."

What a great amount of yucks and high jinks would come out of that fucker!!!...lol.

And you are another one who preaches freedom of speach, yet turn around and demean a group that doesnt think like you

That IS free speech.

We can all give our opinions, discuss each other’s opinions, criticize or even point and laugh. Maybe we each gain something from the free exchange of ideas, maybe we don't but no one gets burned at the stake and that's a big step up from the previous way of doing things.

quote:

ORIGINAL: tazzygirl
tell me... would they still be sheeple if they started believing as you do?
answer... of course... but then they would be your sheeple.

Agreed, last thing I want is people turning their brains off and mindlessly following things I've said. Well, not the last thing but it's on my bad list.

quote:

you are, once again, putting down a group that has done nothing to you beyond refusing to declare you smarter than the god they chose to believe in. pretty egotistical when placed in that light.

Do note that you're doing that to me. I gave my perspective, it's that I'm against faith. Here you are slamming me for having that position. If being critical of another’s position is so wrong and egotistical, what makes your doing it any different?

subrob! i am happy to see you! I have a wonderful joke just for you! Thanks DG for the reminder.

Here goes:
One day Mom was cleaning junior's room and in the closet she found a bondage S+M magazine. This was highly upsetting for her.
She hid the magazine until his father got home and showed it to him.
He looked at it and handed it back to her without a word.
She finally asked him, " Well what should we do about this?"
Dad looked at her and said, "Well I don't think you should spank him."

yuk yuk yuk![8D]

oh yes and so i don't get spanked for derailment... i'm a spiritual person, that takes what makes sense and creates her own religion

God Destroyed Itself and we are the congruent bits of god-dust. Why? Well God wanted to see what would happen.

We are slowly reconstructing God.

Dust and Probabilities.

Also Gumbo Mufatso is a little skeleton man who lives in my head.

That is about it.
