actually, he gave you several versions of what 'the state' is in context, and I did by inference. read, read (which did I say first? one is pronounced red, and one reed) 'the state' depending on context holds a particulare meaning in that context. So, for example you are in 'the state' of confusion all the time. That is AN answer, not THEE answer. If you want a definition of 'the state' you can google as well as the next guy, and if you claim that there is one and only one answer to the question, you are a cretin. If you want the definition, first define very carefully the context, and I will provide you one.

'The states individually and separately' has been defined for you by him, all there to see, and I believe even quoted by you. This is not equivalent to 'the state', in specific terms. You will never make your point eliding the premises constantly, nor tinfoiling about something that hasn't got any relevance to the qeustion at hand.
