<yawn> And I'm a Mensan, sweetheart. So what? But you know, I get MY feeling of achievement through being happy with who and what I am, and don't feel any need to put others down in order to be able to have any self-esteem. And you know what? I like to help others, too. Only I like to help others because I *like* people in general, and it gives me satisfaction to have been able to help... not because I need to to make myself feel all superior, and without any need to put other people down so that I can condescend to them in the guise of "helping." That's the worst kind of selfishness there is, and it stems from pathetically low self-esteem and shallowness of the worst sort. It doesn't matter how much education you've had or how many clients you have or what your career is. Until you can love yourself AND OTHERS for who they are, you will never be happy, never be content. You will never feel truly worthwhile until you can do so without standing on the pile of bodies beneath your feet. You can look as perfect as you like on the outside, yet I can still stand before you without flinching and look you square in the eye, because in the end, I know who I am. And you could never do the same with me, because your vision of yourself is a shadow, a reflection of what you would like to be but are not, and all you can do is reflect that lack onto others, when truly the lack is inside your own heart. quote:
ORIGINAL: PrettyNYkitten Sighs deeply. This "mental toast" of whom you speak attended New York University on a Regents Scholarship and an NYC scholarship which was given to me because of my academic abilitities. Before I became a prodomme and a personal trainer, I spent eight years teaching English literature to young students. After completely a Master's degree in English literature, I pursued another Master's degree, this one in Counseling Psychology. At this point in my life, I am very happy to have changed careers, and I enjoy helping people improve their health and fitness as a Personal Trainer. I have a great deal of fun during my prodomme sessions, and I follow the precepts of RACK. Have fun.... Caitlin
