What is up with all these Doms who list eleventy billion interests? It's like OH OH that sounds like fun... check, check, check.... Is it me? Or do most of us have a handful of things that really float our boat and the rest is just, well stuff other people do... Do you think a huge list of interests in the profile is the sign of someone new and curious?

I'm a Gemini. I can like EVERYTHING (and pretty much do). If your menu is limited, that's not _MY_ concern, I'm the kind of guy who goes to buffets frequently when I go out for dinner because there are LOTS of choices and I can get whatever I feel like trying at the moment. My gawd, I can't imagine living in a world limited to 5 or 10 food choices, why in heaven's name would I want to put the same kind of limit to my possibilities for _play_? ? ? ? ? when i read the phrase "eleventy billion" i could not help but have a very hearty laugh over that... who has time for eleventy billion interests anyway? not me, i'm too busy working 2 jobs and trying to keep a house going... and while i'm here, how dare you doms tell me i'm not submissive without ever meeting me!!! do you know how difficult it is to work 2 jobs, keep a house in working order with all the maintenance/repairs and misc stuff that has to be done without your magnificence to help plus the shopping, cleaning, cooking, laundry, yard work etc? if some dominants really thought of it, and i'm sure a few have, submissives that live alone aren't here because they can't live without you, we're already doing that. we want you in our lives to enhance what we already have. so after i've put up with the general public with their gripe list at work, come home to find that "puddles" puddled while i was gone and destroyed the waste basket contents all over the carpet that i just cleaned, fixed dinner, cleaned up the mess and sat down to enjoy some conversation... don't get antsy cause i wore panties to work and forgot to cap your name. we are all people regardless of our pervy thoughts... relax, enjoy and just be nice... who knows, you just might find someone on the other end of that cable that 'floats your boat'! aellea

I personally had the same sentiment when I started checking the interests boxes on my profile, that's why only the first (vanilla) category got checked... luckily, it included such crucial items as sailing and good food and wine... [:)]

chuckles Maybe it's just cause they're actually interested in so many things. I remember when that whole interest thing popped up on my profile, I checked a bunch load of stuff, because it really did interest me. I've taken some stuff off since, just because I didn't like the cluttered look on my profile. But even now, I've got a long list. Why? Because I have widely varied interests. Lo. Btw... is eleventy-billion related to eleventy-one by any chance? grins

It maybe just you dea r[;)] Now I don't have a great long list of interests as the main thing I was seeking (When I was seeking) was a D/s relationship that wasn't just sex oriented. A grat long list of sexual interests would have been counter-productive in that it would have drawn more attention from the kink sex only types, which whilst they maybe fun, wheren't what I was seeking. As for my interests, if it ain't a hard limit then I'm interested, it certainly isn't 'something other folks do' It boils down to how the individual wants to project themself, if you are looking for something specific then you should have put thought into aiming the tone of your profile so that it speaks mainly to those whom are compatable. Sure a lot of Doms profiles might not 'speak to you' maybe even you find them irritating but then it is likely the people behind those profiles are looking for something diffrent than you are looking for. Move on till you find one that does speak to you. Believe me the same holds true when Doms are looking through sub profiles too. There where a number of girls I didn't bother contacting because the tone rather than the content of their profile didn't seem to indicate a likelyhood of compatability. As it happened, my girl contacted me anyhow so I guess the tone of my profile was about spot on [:)]

YAWN! Maybe they are Doms that see more to life than a sub who wants to be the sole object of their desire? Having had a relationship with such a sub, there is nothing more boring than a selfish someone who wants to be the sole reason for someone's existence and thinks their Dom is only there to service them. You know...I was just thinking..sometimes having experienced a lot of things in life, or having lots of interests, makes it really hard to talk to people. Not because you dont want to but you can come off looking like a "know it all" or people just not being able to relate to what your talking about or people thinking you dont want to talk to them, well there are lots of negatives...so dont think you've got the rough side of the coin knotnilla.

Personally I didn't fill out any of those interest lists. If someone would like more info outside my profile, they can contact me and ask. I would rather discuss such things with someone I am interested in getting to know more intimately. *Brightspot

i think if a person has a lot of interests checked, that means they have a lot of interests, nothing more, nothing less. To me, it would be very boring to play with someone who only liked a hand full of things. It would get old real quick.
