FR

I am wondering why this thread, and wondering if it is because those that argue so vehemently that England is owned by the Pope are acting so because they feel under threat from whatever external forces themselves, and have to seek out something that affects another to make them feel that they are in a better situation than first thought.

In which case, I say try spending less time on the internet and more time in the world of real people where you may at some point realise just getting on with life as it presents itself gives you more pleasure than trying to educate the educated.

Is it possible he is profoundly dyslexic and he meant Alexander Pope and not Pope Alexander?

or is that couplet a bridge too far?

Either way, I think he misunderstood "drink deep," and that "Pierian" is not a brand.

ok that was a fun read, now you can stip precisely which section or line whatever you think nullifies the ownership of of the church?  Not one word of chattels that I could find.

You are really the wacko of all wackos. Reality just slips through your fingers.

Henry was king. He did as he chose. End of story. Hell, even from the Vatican side, ex cathedra isn't until the 19th century.

Guess what? The French Revolution was illegal. Blood still ran down the streets, government and law still changed. I don't think they checked with the Pope first.

You live in a paper world.

Ok then you force me to disregard your post as frivolous, since you obviously did not read it or you read it and did not understand what you read.

fair enough.

Government: Republican Government. One in which the powers of sovereignty are vested in the people and are exercised by the people, either directly, or through representatives chosen by the people, to whom those powers are specially delegated. In re Duncan, 139 U.S. 449, 11 S.Ct. 573, 35 L.Ed. 219; Minor v. Happersett, 88 U.S. (21 Wall.) 162, 22 L.Ed. 627. Black's Law Dictionary, Fifth Edition, p. 626

Heres another jaw dropper for you to contemplate:

You're the one pouting, dude.

Look--you consistently weave silly crap from dubious data with at best a tenuous causal link. But in this case, you're ignoring the central premise---it makes no bloody difference what your document says. You could have letters from John to the Pope and back again protesting undying love, cocksuckers forever, this land is your land, blood brothers, whatthefuckever. It wouldn't matter.

Because that was then. You don't get the difference between paper and power. No matter how many papers the Mongols show the Chinese, they ain't gettin' China back. Or the other half of the globe they once owned. This is now. Or take the Kurds--there's a VERY strong (and documentable) argument for a separate nation of Kurdistan drawn from Iraq, Iran, and Turkey (at least). That ain't gonna happen either.

There's a Zen saying--the map is not the territory; the finger pointing at the moon is not the moon.

And you are as looney as they come--and belligerently so at that. Bring some serious new information, with a reasonable demonstrable link to something significant, and you'll get a serious audience.

Until then, you're the village idiot, and, apparently, quite proud of it to boot.

So enjoy!
