It's like any other form of criminality, nothing to get all flustered about. Treating it as some kind of special circumstance is not going to help anyone beat terror, it's like a virus feeding off of your reaction to it. The government by doing what it does isn't actually saying 'don't be afraid' it's saying 'be afraid for now so that we can fix it'. Meanwhile watch your freedoms vanish one by one i.e. giving the supposed terrorists exactly what they want (a society like they have). Do governments actually realise that they are playing into these people's hands and legitimising their fight by doing this? Iraq had no association with terrorism so that couldn't have been about terror, Afghanistan used to be about terrorism by now it seems to be about people being able to say who their town elder is. (Vote for the town member you want to age to become town elder, no anti aging skin cream for them). The underlying problem is resentment and injustice, the world is unfair you can't make it fair but you can stop making it seem as unfair as it is. All you have to do is leave people alone and then watch them try and keep finding reasons to hate you.
