Marini -> Should all states be forced to use E-Verify? (4/21/2010 9:05:17 PM)

I have been doing a little online research on the E-verify system.
USCIS - What is E-Verify?
Here is a map of states with mandatory e-verify laws.

 E-Verify States

E-verify appears to be easy to use, why aren't all the states using it?

Less than 1 percent of O.C. employers use E-Verify | verify, business, employers - The Orange County Register

Less than 1 percent in O.C. are using E-verify?
Should legislation be passed requiring all 50 states to at least use E-verify?
Why or why not?

I realize there are flaws in the E-verify system, but it does appear to catch at least 50% of those working illegally, isn't that at least a start?

Oh No no no.. we can't have this.

The next thing you know they will use it to make sure one is a eligible registered voter and that that they are who they say they are.

No no... we can't have that.

Yes. Because it works.

worse yet we can subpoena them for the voting records to show the roll of the people who voted for it.

Oh shit thats right!

The last time people voted for anything was their constitutions after that it was all but done away with.

So we have the technology, but we refuse to use it?
We refuse to use it, because it is too effective?
lol

DHS: DHS Unveils Initiatives to Enhance E-Verify

I would have at least a morsal of respect for the "powers that be", if a statement was made
that we don't want to use e-verify, we want to support illegal immigration, we actually need billions more to come here illegally, in fact why not let
everyone in the entire world come here illegally, and be done with it.

Smutmonger -> RE: Should all states be forced to use E-Verify? (4/21/2010 9:14:23 PM)

No,we can't use it. Rip off employers would have to hire us citizens since there is no way for an illegal to beat it. There are only so many legit us ss numbers. Anyone using a forged document with a ripped off ss id or from a dead person would immediately be outed.

It's not in the vested interest of crooked business. If this was made a federal law-they would then have the justification to use it to prosecute crooked employers. Since all you would have to do would be to audit thier employment records.

We don't use it for political reasons....has nothing to do with its effectiveness.

do you have any idea what would happen to them if they used it with someone of my political status?   They would have several bad hair years.

Most of us realize it is political, we are tired of lies and damn lies.
If you don't want to do anything about illegal immigration, and gosh forbid curtail or even
stop MORE illegal immigration, than fuck it.

Don't pretend to care about the situation.
Don't pee on our legs and tell us it's raining.

Nothing is done, because the powers that be, do NOT want anything done.
Baby Bush proved this, time and time again even in his precious state of Texas,
which still has not mandated using E-verify.

I like this recent and color-coded map, you might want to read about what proposal's a few states are making underneath the map {very interesting}.

Map of States with Mandatory E-Verify Laws | NumbersUSA - For Lower Immigration Levels

PolitiFact | Hutchison says Texas state doesn't use E-Verify to weed out undocumented workers applying for jobs

Since we really don't care who comes in this country, and we really don't care who
is here legally or illegally, why bother to even "patrol" the borders, just let it ride.

Everyone that was born at night {and I was born at 9:15 p.m.} was not born last night.

Even without E-Verify an employer only had to pick up the phone to get SSN verification for free.

True story:
My son went to apply for his first job at age 17 at Target.  Evidently Target verifies SSNs.  Target told my son that they would hire him but his social security number did not match his name but was in fact being used by someone else.  Sorry folks but that someone else had an Hispanic name.  My son had to go to the Social Security office with his birth certificate to get the problem resolved.  He also had to contact the credit reporting agencies, all three of them, to make sure the identity thief had not ruined his credit before he had ever earned a penny.

Thank all gods for Target Corporation!

Yes, all employers should be required to veriry.

discrimination against the unenfranchised

either you are a member of the "big club",  or you dont work but thats in the process of being corrected.

jlf1961 -> RE: Should all states be forced to use E-Verify? (4/22/2010 5:33:16 AM)

Why not use it, it would cut down the hiring of illegal aliens and that would make it so that illegals would find the land of opportunity closed.

Um.... Identity theives are unenfranchised and should be protected against discrimination?
If the "big club" is legal entry into the United States then yes, if you aren't a member you should not be able to work here.  No one has ever said someone should not be able to work in their own country.

pahunkboy -> RE: Should all states be forced to use E-Verify? (4/22/2010 5:34:55 AM)

For what jobs?    No one is hiring.

Hunk, it would also make it easier for the NWO to find you.

There is no "illegal/citizens" dichotomy. Many of us are perfectly legal immigrants who had to go through an abysmally dysfunctional system and paid a small fortune in "filing fees".

Sure... how long do you have :-) ?

Illegal immigrants are human beings trying to get by. I'm not sure that the average US citizen wouldn't go north of the border illegally, were the situation as dire here as it is elsewhere.

At the same time, the many immigrants that are here perfectly legally get seriously shoddy service from the agency in charge, even though they pay through their teeth for the privilege of doing everything by the book. Not to mention the fact that they are officially suspected of trying to bypass US immigration laws, even though they're going through the system legally (it's kafkaesque, it really is).

Meanwhile, certain self-righteous US citizens think nothing of making the subject of immigration an excuse to rant and rave against "illegals" - they don't want to discuss immigration, really.

There needs to be an immigration overhaul. But good luck having a serious discussion on the subject with people who want nothing but a reason to be angry and pissed off at others [&:] .
