True, because I don't think there can be any justified reason for taking away someone's life. If this belief one day causes me to be killed then okay, I'm happy with that. I'm fully prepared to die for what I believe in.

Trouble is, you won't be dying for what you believe in. You'll be dying because some punk wants your money. So, you're essentially saying that it's perfectly fine for criminals to run around killing at will because *you* don't feel there is justification enough to stop them.

Criminals of the world thank you and all those who refuse to protect themselves. Study after study and interview after interviews indicates that the criminals always prefer to go after the easiest target. People like you ensure there will never be a shortage of 'easy targets.'

Quite honestly, though, in this case unless the actual shooter was also charged with attempted murder, if I was on the jury I'd probably vote to acquit the stabber on simple fairness grounds. Anybody who hits a person with a bullet, even accidentally, should be convicted of attempted premeditated murder - carrying a gun constitutes premeditation.

Actually, carrying a gun constitutes self-defense, hence why we have concealed carry laws.

Obviously, premeditation is not an issue when no shots are fired. And if it truly is self-defense, then it's also not an issue.

But when somebody carries a gun and then shoots at a person in anger, that darn well constitutes premeditation.

Okay, first thing - I'm aware that there are a few differences between British English and American English regarding grammar and syntax, but I'm not really sure where you get the idea that I advocate any sort of criminality. In fact, please quote me where you feel I have expressed such an opinion in my posts.

I actually don't advocate criminals 'running around at all'. The 'people like you' statement? What is this? Brits? Europeans? And what has crime to do with me? How come you are holding me partially responsible for their actions? What are you trying to insinuate?

If it wasn't for China the United States would be the leading executioner, it's employed five methods of execution, there have been thousands of executions, and suffice to say I don't think it's really made all that much difference because you still have criminals running around with guns.

Also I won't be dying because some punk wants my money. Nice shot at the victim blaming mentality thing. How's that working out for you?

The absence of a permit doesn't matter due to a recent supreme court ruling. I don't know about all states, some have declared "home rule state" status and things could get rough in such a case. Without specifics I can't say. I know Colorado is one, that's about all, the rest I just don't know.

The state in question needs their laws examined to determine what is going to happen and it is hard enough to gain even a basic familiarization with it in one state. But in Ohio the originator of the crime is held culpable for all resulting injuries. If you lead the cops on a high speed chase and THEIR car hits someone or something YOU are liable and chargeable with an actual crime as if it was intentional. Not just tort law here folks. (you'll be paying for the cop car as well)

I wonder how many other states have similar laws. Probably more than one. Also for the last thirty years at least, in Ohio there is no such a thing as an accomplice. Even the wheelman in a robbery goes down for the whole thing, no exceptions. Any leniency is totally at the discretion of the judge. The only thing a jury can do is refuse to convict, which in most cases would not be appropriate. They might do it if said wheelman makes a good case that he did not know what was going on, simply giving someone a ride. That's also the only way, if convicted that most judges would consider leniency.

This happened to me, and though nobody got busted I muthafucked the guy really good, and never let him back in my car.

What really sticks in my craw about this is that it all started over a stupid parking spot. This has nothing to do with the law, it has to do with people. It's as if they can't walk or something. If they can't walk they should have a handicap parking permit and those spaces should be empty. Believe me it should, I loaned my car out to someone who parked illegally in one and the cost is enormous. But then sometimes I have to walk about 500 feet from my car to go to work, and I did this when I was sick and could barely walk. People disgust me. (present company excluded)

I did not know that malls had parking over there.

Gosh- when did that happen?
