What we need is the 21st century equivalent of the Glass-Steagall Act. Until we get it, the protestors shouldn't leave the capitol alone.

Wall Street would never permit such legislation, any more than the health insurance companies were willing to permit meaningful health care reform.

Exactly, the tea partiers were riled up to protest against the public option, and the so-called "left" was riled up to lobby for "health care reform" -- and we ended up being forced to buy corporate health insurance. Which was undoubtedly the agenda in the first place.

Next, we can probably expect that the so-called "left" will be riled up to lobby for "immigration reform," and the so-called "right" will be riled up to lobby for more police measures against immigrants -- and we'll end up getting some so-called "compromise" that simply imposes more police measures against the general citizenry. - Shannie
