I'm amazed.

Yes, you can change your name back but you will never get the opportunities back that were denied you because of him demanding that everyone else demeans you also. Nor the monies back that you couldn't earn.

Yes, we have different dynamics. Here I submit only to him, I'm not required to submit to everyone else, to be demeaned by everyone else. Apparently you're submissive to all. Have fun.

Something to think about since you are considering changing her legal name. . .

She may have to put this name down on a job application or resume.  Believe it or not, that application or resume could be rejected based on the name.  Steven Levitt wrote about it happening in Freakanomics.  So you may want to stay away from something too messed up. 

You two are adults, but you might want to look at possible repercussions.

You could go a number of ways.  I've always liked the more biblical or historical names like Jezebel, Rahab, or even Nell (Gwynn).  You could go popular:  Courtney (Love), Amy (Winehouse...though she does tend to wear panties when getting those special photos of her getting out of a car), or Brittney (Spears...who DOESN'T tend to wear panties when doing the same).  Mainly, pick a name that means something to you.  All of us are going to have names that sound sluttly only to ourselves from the information and pasts that we've experienced individually.  A "Mabel" to one person is wholesome like an aunt, while another may totally associate it with the name being whorish from a book, movie, or experience in the past.  I like that name because it reminds me of the pin-up girls that one saw on the side of a bomber plane...who looked very fun-loving to say the least but had that smile that said she knew what to with every part of her body and a few good things to do with every part of yours.  It's all perspective.  Good luck.

Funny how you pick a name that is really over the top when so many names have been fairly normal names. I'm pretty sure all the Candy's out there will be glad to know they can never get a job because there name is too slutty

In my situation the job/money scenario is a moot point, doesn't apply, never will apply. I'm sure I'm supposed to feel scathed at the implication of being submissive to all, but here's the thing. I pretty much am. Pretty much always have been. The beautiful thing in being with him is that he accepts that fact... doesn't make me feel bad over it, doesn't try to "fix it"... nope, he just let's me be me. I finally get to stop pretending to be strong, and independant and all the rest. Those pretenses that are so important to others to have recognized, to me were a burden of falsity. Glad to be free of them. If someone heard my name and thought... oh she must be a slut, or a bubblehead.... well, then they have the right impression Of course, as is pointed out in another post, one could draw the same conclusion from Mabel.

Status: offline 		You could give her a nice long name:  Sara Louise Udele Tahnee.  That way, you can just call her "S.L.U.T." for short and look how pretty that would be monogrammed on luggage and her briefcase....

I think she was thinking more about the name "Pleasure" and less about the name "Candy" which I agree, just sounds like it's short for Candace.

Naming a person "Pleasure" is going to cause problems with their daily interactions, especially because most incredulous remarks are going to be along the lines of "Your parents seriously named you Pleasure?" and what's the response going to be? "Uh, no, they named me Jane, but, you know, I'm a slut, so I had it legally changed."

but depends where you request that name...now whilst in many countries you can name your kid whatever you want, in Germany you have to apply for the name you want to give....and to avoid causing later bullying with certain names (such as the example of pleasure) is one of the reasons behind it...so while Schlauchbeutel would be perfectly acceptable in the UK and in the US (I guess), I doubt it would be permitted to give in Germany...

i'd just smile and say "it's an unique name, isn't it?"  And then say nothing else.

It's none of their business, really, and it's always better to be a private person than an open book. 

People are intrigued by a good mystery - i don't mind being someone's pillow talk. 


Eta:  For what it's worth, no prospective Owner of mine would consider naming me such a thing (at least as a "public" name).  Common sense is an important quality of Ownership.

Status: offline 		Elisabella, I referenced chesty in my comment since I had been asked about saying that name to my 85 year old Grandmother. Common sense indeed, is why I'm sure he wouldn't choose something like.... chesty, lusty, lilcocksucker, etc. In fact, he clarified a couple of times that he was looking for names, real names... but I did find the other offerrings pretty funny!

As to the name, Pleasure... not that I have any clue that this would be chosen, but here's my thought. It skirts the edge. It isn't all the way over the edge. I say this though, coming from a very different perspective than most. My name is Cy. Pronounced sigh. I don't think anyone has ever heard my name and not said something about it... what? That's different. Is that because all the men sigh when they meet you? Is that a family name? And so on. There is usually a solid conversation pertaining to my name before we even get on with anything else. There are countless things people think of when they hear my name.... some sexual, some baseball lol.. all depends. I find Pleasure to be about the same.... all kinds of things one can think and it would depend on the person as to what they took from it. At any rate in all the comments i've ever heard about my actual name, not one person has ever said... why would your parents name you that? And after the initial conversation/clarification of my name, people smooth right into calling me it without even thinking about it... then it's just my name... just who i am.

One of those life things where experience shifts perspective.
