Welcome and good luck! IF you are new find a munch or play demos in your area. Hang around the boards and read as well some of the posters have links to some good reading material.

Raleigh NC is near a pretty awesome (IMHO) kink community. Have you looked into various meets and events?

The best way to find someone is probably to start hitting up the local munchs and attending events. Our local scene is very friendly to newcomers as long as they are respectful to everyone.

A munch is a fancy term for a social get together of other kinksters. Usually over dinner or lunch or brunch or some other eating type location.

from what i understand it's a nice way to get a point across as well as have a familiarity for the subject among peers- i've been invited to several events in themed bdsm clubs that are just too extreme of an environment for my level.

munches are a great alternative.
