I live out in the country, and one thing I absolutely LOVE about the area I'm at...there is a little 'country market', an outside stall with fruits, vegetables, flowers, hay, pumpkins, etc. (depending on what is in season).

There is never anyone there manning the place.  The prices are listed, and there is a box to put either money or checks in!  I just think it's wonderful that the people who own this farm are able to do this, having confidence and trust in their neighbors.  (I usually put a few dollars extra in, just in case someone else was short.)

Okay, I kind of stole this idea from fergus' thread on Jersey.....where do you live, what do you love/hate about it?

I live in Moody, Texas; a very small town on the outskirts of Waco. What I most love about this area is that it is very small, I absolutly love small towns, and yet, it is still within distance of Waco and DFW.
What do I hate about it? Fire ants

I recently moved to the north western  part of Georgia. I am here to be with my Master. Haven't really had enough time to "love" or "hate" anything. However . . . I'm not fond of the cold.

Home is California.

You are right slavelady, I should have elaborated.  I hate the 9 month summers, the palmetto bugs the size of small dogs, mosquitos, alligator mating season, and snowbirds (the traffic is terrible from October to April).  And, I agree with Tyr, the northern transplants with the "New York" attitudes--they are so rude.
Sorry to vent

PS:  Did I mention I hate hurricanes?   I know, you have plenty of time to prepare before they come as opposed to the suddeness of a tornado, but......it's the boarding up your windows and preparing and just waiting....and waiting.....and waiting.   Heck this year we had one come right through but it was 3 days late!

You have no idea how tempting that idea is, however I think i will have to wait till my unmentionables are older, seeing them only once a year would be terrible, they are just about the only thing keeping me here.

Then there is one thing you love about Ottawa...being close to your unmentionables. LOL

And those who know me won't be surprised to hear I'm extremely jealous.  Master's mother is moving to Fort Wayne this fall, so I told Him now we have nothing to keep us here, so we should move to Tucson, too (where most of my family is, and where I spent 22 years), but He's not going for it.

I came from a small town called Niles, Michigan...while it was not a perfect town, it had four seasons, people would walk down the street and say good moring/hello to you, i knew most everyone in the town, there may have been pollution..but not noticeable.  There were 2-4 lanes on a highway instead of 6-8.  I miss the small town feel.

I'm amazed to find so many people here who either live near me, used to live near me, or live where I used to live!  I spent many a night in a little place called the House of Shadowfind on Fourth Street in Niles, until they closed last October.  I still go there now, for meetings in another dominant's home, but only once a month.  Nice little town, Niles is.  And they've got one killer haunted house at Halloween!

Like LokisBrat, we're from Far Southern Illinois.  Home of the Imfamous SIU Salukis.

Pros:  Small town living at it's best.  Really nice people in the local Munch Group.

Cons: Small town living at it's best.  Churches on every other corner.

girl lives in Calgary, Alberta and hates the cold weather, especially snow.....she does love how the trees look though and the snowmen the kids at the school across from where she lives makes. she also likes the bdsm community she belongs to here and the fact that they are so accepting of new people and always find a way to help each O/other out.

girl hates the noisy street she lives on but alas she has been in her building for 5yrs now and until such time as she finds a 24/ 7 Master she will stay put. LOL

wow, it's late here and girl is way past bedtime for her but alas she has trouble sleeping at night and  saw this board and had to post :)

Blessed Be

I live in Sweden. I love the cold, snowy winters and the beauty of the countryside; I hate the anal retentiveness and the prudishness of the Swedes. And I miss pubs; Oh God, how I miss pubs!

I live in Denmark,Maine.
I'm 10 mins from lakes for fishing(ice or open water) and boating.
10 mins from a Ski resort.10 mins from hiking trails.
40 mins to North Conway,NH and tax free shopping (yeehah)

A major grocery chain just built a store 15 mins away,no more 40 minute drives for groceries.
We do have a store in town called Jimbob's its a variety store as they sell a variety of everything.
And unlike most of the other small towns around here...WE have a flashing light.

If you walk to the end of My driveway and  lean just right you can see Mt. Washington in New Hampshire...lol

Romania?! Christ those people shouldnt be allwed to make weapons!!! Their AK clones are assembled by monkeys!!!
All the models that ive seen have defects canted front sight posts canted gas vent tubes!!! and the finish on those things look like it was spray painted on!!!
Romanians make great wine and cheeze but need to stay away from weapons.

Romanians are making a killing on those! Most of those models get sent to countries in central Africa, the neutered semi-auto versions get sent to US. Fortunatley now we have 4 manufactureres here in US who make quality AK clones.
Ever traveled to Romanian country side? Old castles? it is really breath taking.
