It depends on where you live. I call 911 the cops show up in less than 60 seconds....You call on certain parts of the southside maybe they show up tomorrow.

 Littlewonder makes a good point: cowardice is a universal trait. Unfortunately, many people would rather avoid getting into trouble rather than take the risk of getting involved. Cowardice isn't reserved to city life: it's probably equally represented in the boondocks.

I think you are right KittinSol. It IS an illusion. They would have thought... oh... we must uphold our Constitution. It is our duty to do so. They must have deluded themselves into thinking there is no document.

"You the People" don't exist. You are a collective of individuals with individual interests and a wide variety of opinions that aren't in any way cohesive. The "Constitution" does not make you united in any way. It's an illusion that you hold dear, but... I'm afraid it's all propaganda.

That you invoke the Constitution and "You the People" in the face of simple and common, abject, and humanly universal, moral ineptitude, demonstrates to me that you are living a dream life that has no ground in reality.

If I was walking anywhere, and I came across a prone man seemingly dying, I would call the emergency services straight away and I certainly would not leave the side of the person in question - no doubt about it. I certainly would NOT walk by as if nothing was going on. Thankfully, in all my years as a city person, I never encountered this kind of situation. Cowardice is a hard limit for me.

Those fuckers that acted as if they didn't see anything will live with the knowledge that they ignored a dying man to the end of their days.

I didn't see the blood. person on ground = passed out. I would have still called. I can understand how many would have ignored him. Illegal immigrant and all.

I can't understand it either. Who cares if he was illegal? I'm not a fan of them either, my family and I came here legally, so can others. But the man was a human being, and that matters much, much more. This whole story is just beyond the pale.

Why not make it a capital offense to be an illegal alien or homeless. Start a hunting season for em. Granted there may be a few mistakes, so have a fine, say fifty bucks, for accidentally killing someone that was not illegal or homeless.
